★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was our first time pairing food with Sake and we absolutely enjoyed it! We tried the following:
》Gurenge | One of their signature dishes which had Sea urchin, cod roe, wasabi, seaweed and rice on it. There are 2 ways to enjoy this - Try half of the spoonful on its own first then the rest to be devoured like a sushi wrapped in seaweed along with the rice. It was fantastic especially when paired with the Beppin Usunigori Sake.
》Century Egg Cream Tofu | The perfect starter which was composed of a luscious/creamy tofu, century egg paste and green onions complimented by the saltiness of the cod roe.
》Hamburger Steak | Perfectly cooked steak with robust flavours. It came with a demi glaze sauce which made this dish very delectable.
》Oysters | Massive and plump oysters, had a squeeze of lemon and a lil' bit of soy on it - its freshness was evident and tasted like the sea, so heavenly.
》Shirasu Mentaiko Gohan | Shirasu (whitebait/baby sardines), half-boiled egg, spicy cod roe, butter, soy sauce, green onion, bonito flakes, seaweed and rice at the bottom. The combination of all the elements worked well and the texture was delightful.
》Beppin Usunigori Sake | Dry, smooth and refreshing with a very pleasant voluminous taste.
》Masumi Karakuchi Sake | Rich, slightly sweet and smooth with hints of fruity notes on it.
Totally satisfied with the scrumptious food/sake that we've tried along with the cozy ambiance and warm hospitality they've shown us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One word : WOW. It’s your lucky day if you’re just wandering around Haji Lane casually and you find yourself in this gem of an izakaya bar. Amazing and warm service from their team of service staff, I felt absolutely at home when I had dinner there few nights back. Dishes were all amazing - we had their famed uni dish, ray fin, century egg, oysters, chicken gizzards, sardine rice, amongst many other dishes. If I can just suggest an improvement, please change your menu to a more reader friendly one. I did not understand any of the Japanese terms and had to ask the staff on each and every dish. I celebrated my friends birthday and they gave us shots on the house. What a lovely place, I hope to be back soon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quaint with a great atmosphere. Had bar seats for a party of 6 and everyone really enjoyed the hospitality of the staff.
Interesting menu, chicken heart, gizzard and beef tongue as well as interesting takes in Japanese cuisine.
Certainly a refreshing experience and will be back again!
Ps. Make reservations as it fills up pretty quick, you won't regret it
