★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The wait was a little long as the hawker seems to operate as a one-woman show, but that was fine for me.
The actual dish itself would've scored closer to 3.5 stars. It could've have been more tasty, but the portion was rather generous and it was fried rather well.
The shocking attitude of the hawker, however, is what compelled me to ultimately give a 2 star rating. She was friendly enough upon my first order. 2 hours later I went back to get a takeaway without beansprouts for someone else due to a dietary preference. That's when she pointed to a small sign on the way which proclaimed (in Chinese, and I quote literally) "If you don't want beansprouts, I'm not frying". When I explained that the recipient preferred not to have beansprouts, she waved me away with the words "Then go order something else".
In the era where hawkers are supposedly struggling for business, the arrogance of trying to decide your customers' dietary preference, and failing which, to arrogantly turn business away, isn't welcome at all.
No dish is worth being told what you should and shouldn't eat. Won't be repeating my business with this stall.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've spent a lot of time in Penang and so far, I think this is not close to my Penang standard char koay teow but I have given them 4* as if I close my eyes, can pass.
I don't remember Penangites put greens in the char koay teow so I told them to not put in. Better like that.
I'd only come here when I really desperate for non Singapore style CKT

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not the most authentic Penang CKT but the essence is there. Aunty typically fries 2 plate in a row so expect some queue. I personally prefer more spicy hence always order with extra chillies, this gives the plate a few more stirs therefore better wok-hei, I guess.
If you are around the area and have a sudden cravings for CKT, give this stall a try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ $3.50 for the portion is good.
Slightly wok hey, average taste, not bad for the $$

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not the best Penang fried Kway Teow but some resemblance ? prawns are big and lots of bean sprouts which is a plus. The kway Teow it self is smooth and soft. Light on taste. Less salt less chilly. Less “wok hei” a little too wet. Still worth a try if around the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just can’t get enough of aunty’s #penangckt ?
There’s something about aunty’s tau geh that adding extra $0.50 to the $3.50 plate is a must coz aunty fries it so perfectly. So crunchy, it goes super well with the thin kway teow. Another messy plate of awesomeness! ?
She’s so proud of it that there is even a sign that says 不要豆芽不炒! ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chance upon this stall in upper boon Keng Food centre that serves penang fried kway teow. There was a short queue when i was there. Waited for close to 10mins before it was my turn to order.
The Penang char kway teow comes in 2 sizes, $3 or $4. When you order, the friendly aunty would ask you if you would like to add chili. The plate of fried kway teow comes with prawn, chinese sausage, chye sim abd generous amount of beansprout.
It was a decent plate of fried kway teow but was not close to the one i have tried in Penang. The kway teow was rather dry, luckily the generous amount of bean sprout kinda saved the dish.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ate the Penang fried kway teow from 01-08 and it reminded me of the one my mum used to make when I was a kid. It doesn't have have the dark sauce like char kway teow SG style but is just nicely fried with chili eggs and a few good-sized Prawns. It was yummy.
