Came on a Saturday afternoon. Made a reservation prior to coming so we managed to get a table. We ordered the Iberico Tonkatsu sandwich & Nitamago Sandwich. Do note that one order comes with 2 huge sandwiches so do share if you don't have a big appetite. (Most won't be able to finish it) The egg sandwich was rich and creamy. Perfectly cooked egg and the mayo had some truffle oil. The Iberico pork took a while longer to arrive but it was worth the wait. It was fatty and tender. It's a bit too big to bite so I had to finish the vegs first before eating the sandwich. Would recommend you try both if you drop by!

If you simply love a good cup of coffee or are a coffee bean aficionado into micro roasting your beans, Pipes is a cafe with something for you. 20+ coffee bean varieties greet you on a large open table as you enter. Uniquely, they are all green and unroasted. Whether you are ordering a cup to drink on site or a bag to take home, they roast directly on site, to brew your coffee to order. Roasts come on a 1-to-5 scale, with 1 being the lightest. The knowledgeable handsome barista discussed the beans, roast options, and I decided on drinking a cup of a 2-level roast intensity of a Peaberry bean mix. It was strong but left room for the softer notes to come through. I decided on a 2 level roast for a small bag of Indonesian beans and watched them in the roaster. I learned after roasting that gas continues to be released, so I am waiting 4-7 days to try them. The package smells delicious. Offering cafe food options as well, the one "must try" are the Japanese cream buns, soft and loaded with not too sweet high dairy cream. I recommend the original and the red bean flavors.

Came here for brunch, the sandwiches were good. Slightly disappointed in how the egg salad come out as it doesn’t look like the other photos, they were a bit over cooked and weren’t runny. I also think there was a lot of oil in the aioli sauce for the fries.

If you are craving for the perfect sando, look no further. Pipes at Hattendo wins the award for serving the best sandos in Singapore, based on its freshly baked syokupan bread and premium ingredients. We’ve tried others on the list of cafes serving sandos and nothing comes close. The Nitamago Potato Salad sando is a must try. Perfect, barely firm egg with oozy orange yolk tops a creamy potato salad, accented with fragrant truffle oil, and encased in the softest syokupan bread, that still holds its structure. One mouthful of this and you are transported. We’ve gone back so many times or had them delivered that we’ve tried almost all the sandos on the menu. But always order the ultimate tamago sando. Today, we tried a new menu item, the fried kaki sando. This was another winner with yuzu dressing balancing the briny flavour of the deep fried oysters. Originally established in Hiroshima in 1933, Hattendo also prides itself on its freshly roasted coffee beans. The roaster takes its pride of place at the front of the shop so visitors can see where the magic happens. Leave some room for dessert as they are famed for their cream buns (azuki/chocolate/custard/gemmaicha/matcha) and custard puddings.

Pretty looking food. Waitress was friendly and patient to recommend bestsellers and her personal favourite. Ordered the iberico katsusando and Nitamago Potato Salad sando. Large serving size so it was good for sharing esp if you have a smaller appetite. My kiddos didn't really fancy sandwiches so they had the truffle fries. Dip was awesome! We tried the cafe latte and matcha latte. I preferred matcha latte more:) price was a little tad on the high side. $60++ for 2 sando, 2 drinks and 1 side Nearest carpark: Teo Hong Road Public Car Park on Google maps or parallel parking along teo hong road Remember to pay for parking on app as the parking attendant does come to check!!

Love their potato egg sando! Everything was just perfect - the runny yolk, seasoning of the potato salad and the bread. The bread had the right amount of crisp and butter on them making it fluffy yet tasty. I’d just eat the bread on its own! What I didn’t fancy was their cream puff. The filling was alright - light but sweet. The pastry however was too dense to my liking and felt that it could be improved. Felt like the cream was just stuff inside a normal bread.

I used to stay in Japan for sometime, and there, they have some bloody good fries like almost everywhere. And this is the closest one I can ever find! It is already that good even without dipping! Of course, sandwich was superb but then, I came to realise they have passion for their coffees! Do give them a try, it’s absolute worthy to pay them a visit!

Went for the sando on two different occasions ordered the exact same sandos. Happy to report that the food was consistently good. Egg and potato salad had a mild truffle smell and taste. I’d probably be happier if there wasn’t truffle oil in the sando but no complains anyway. The egg yolk was runny and so so good. Iberico pork katsu was deep fried to juicy and tender goodness. Loved the pickles in it. I don’t know if they bake their own bread but I love it so much! Cafe was clean and bright, comfortable to dine in. Food took awhile to come but it’s fine because the food was really good. Just take note if you are in a hurry :). My friend said that the coffee was good and I will be sure to try it next time. I am very happy to have tried this and I think they deserve more attention. I haven’t tried the other sandos so I will definitely be back again.
