β β β β β Always a good getaway from the busy life of the city. A good island to go to with the remaining kumpong / rural area in Singapore.
Lots of basic amenities are provided from drinks to food, exploring options from walking, biking to take the vans in the island. Toilets are also available in certain locations, mostly in public camping areas.
If you are someone who love the nature, it's definitely great to drop by the area to see and explore the area.
Would advise to go for a full day trip from morning till roughly about 5pm due to the ferry service. Anytime after 5pm would be kind of difficult to get a ferry as the boatman will only move upon having 12 passengers. Unless you would like to cover the rest of the pax.
Most importantly, drop by the police post upon arriving for the first time for camping. Just in case of anything that happens.

β β β β β Best for outdoorsy people especially those who likes cycling, hiking and long walks. Youβll never get enough of the view, the nature and wild life. There is too much to see so you need to go there as early as possible if you are aiming for a day tour, though you can set a camping site if you like. Never forget to bring your camera, food, water and insect repellant.

β β β β β A totally nice place to cycle or walk around with family and friends.
The island feels more developed as compared to many years back.
On rainy season, its best to go in the morning and leave the island by noon to avoid getting stuck in the rain

β β β β β This is as good as outdoor life gets in Singapore. Visit Pulau Ubin to hike, bike and, enjoy stunning views, and travel back in time to see the old Kampong atmosphere. My suggestion: don't jump on a bicycle immediately, but walk around a little, both in the village as on the Sensory Trail. Next choose: go eastwards, to the wetlands and mangroves: easy to reach by bike, walking might take you an hour to reach the far East end of Pulau Ubin. Are you looking for a good mountainbike trail: go to the western part of the island. Bikes can be rented, the variety is huge. A decent mountain bike should cost not more than SGD 10 (be nice to aunty and her prices will be reasonable), but some rental some will have the latest models, which cost more.
As elsewhere in Singapore, get used to the overwhelming amount of traffic signs, warnings and fences. At the other hand, maintenance is perfect and all is clean. Personally I'm not excited about the food options here, so when I finish my hikes, I usually go straight back to Changi Village, with its fantastic hawker center (my favourite: Old School Canteen, only for lunch, photos added).
Long story short: Pulau Ubin is absolutely worth a visit, and you might want to come back more than once to escape the busy city.

β β β β β Loved the outdoor especially at Pulau Ubin where time stand still and it seems to go back 20 years to primary school days where teacher brings student to nature for excursion..... Many fun things to do, walk cycling, kayak and explore the Wetland. Please don't litter and throw your stuff in the bins provided. Help keep this precious nature outdoor pristine and clean.

β β β β β One of the last 2 kampungs that is still largely intact. Though the only surviving businesses are bicycle rental and F&B, it is still nice to see the bustling street life. The rural-scape, nature and the idyllic atmosphere are reasons many urban mainlanders are escaping to the island, especially during the pandemic time when border crossing is impossible, a 15min boat ride seems to transport one into a foreign land.

β β β β β Iβd say a perfect place to disconnect yourselves from the hustle and bustle of city life! A trip worth exploring if youβre a nature lover! Look deep into nature, and you will understand everything better.

β β β β β Had a wonderful outing at Pulau Ubin. Took a bum boat from Changi point Ferry terminal, it costed Sgd 4 per person. It was just a 15 min boat ride and we landed at Pulau Ubin jetty. The first thing most of the people do after landing there is to rent a bicycle. Ladies' bicycle costs Sgd 10 for full day while men's bicycle with gears costs Sgd15 for full day. If you opt for a new bicycle it costs Sgd 20.
Bicycle shops are on the left side of jetty and majority of the people go along that way.
Just a reminder, always wear comfortable if possible sporty cloths and shoes, Do remember to carry a water bottle, a cap and an ymbrella as even on an overcast day it may become quite hot sometimes and in case it rains there are very few shelters.
With bicycle under us first stop was Butterfly hill. Not much so see there but yes there were some butterflies. It is just opposite Pekan Quarry which is beautiful. Quarry has a floating wetland for birds and there are also some Heron nesting platforms. We did see a person birdwatching using his binoculars. Quarry's water looks beautiful deep green, don't know is it because of depth or greenery around.
Our next stop was Puaka hill. Its quite a hike to the summit point of the hill but the view from there is worth it. Absolutely mesmerising view from the top.
Our next stop was Ubin Living lab. There is a nice cute but significantly sized pond there. There were sheltered halls with a lot of fans, yes fans, a rarity on pulau ubin. Perfect place if you have your packed lunch with you to sot and take some rest. Not sure if its allowed but when we went there, there was no one to stop and people were catching there breath under the fans.
Our next stop was Ketam Mountain Bike park and Ketam query. Again this was an equally beautiful quarry and some benches to sit and relax.
I don't know why cyckists were not allowed to go beyond this point so we had to turn back to our starting point i.e.Jetty terminal.
We looked for some food, there is only 1 functional restaurant with seafood and local food options. There is also a small outlet for Malay Halal food but very limited options. We had a an ice cream and a Chendol from a nearby ice cream shop. Good thing is food and ice cream is not too expensive so it doesn't burn a hole in your pocket.
The toilets near the jetty are v clean, cannot say the same from other toilets on the island. After getting refreshed we headed for the right side of the island. Its called sensory trail and mostly dirt track. First there a small but very well labelled spice garden. It leads to another beautiful scenic point to look at sea from a rocky shore. Weather was awesome and it was windy too so we found it very difficult to leave this place. From there you follow the dirt track along mangroves. Next comes a fruit orchard, it was devoid of many information plaques so we kipped the tour. Going along the gravel track, we encountered a few wild boars and monkeys so be a little careful. Sensoryvtrail joins to proper road which leads to Balai Quarry and Check Java wetlands and boardwalk. By now we were dead tired having cycled for almost 4 hours now so we decided to turn back.
A smart way will be to reach early, do left side of island, take a break/lunch and then explore right side of island (if your legs permit). Better is to do it on a bicycle as by foot it will be impossible to cover whole island in one day ( it was extremely difficult even on a bicycle so we missed Check java wetlands but we had visited them a few years ago so no regrets).
Overall an exhausting but worth explorinf trip, away from hussle and bustle of city life.
There is also a romantic restaurant in the middle of water near Pulau Ubin, but thats for another day.
