This was very disappointing. The soup felt like it had corn starch in it and the minced meat is over tenderised and/or mixed with starch because the mouthfeel was not like real meat but more like mock meat. The seasoning also tasted strange with a strong porky smell. Noodles were also mushy.

There was a long line in front of the shop. Qui Lian ban Mian cooks the noodle at the time of the order, hence, longer cooking (and waiting) time. The chef (husband) cooks three incoming orders at a time while the cashier (wife) gets the order - great teamwork! I ordered the most favored Woo Mien and was simply amazed by the deepness of the broth (again, cooked at the time of the order). The dish had noodles with beef chunks, egg, veggies, anchovies and fried flakes - which was generally mediocre. The amazement comes simply from the deep sophistication of the soup cooked at such a short period of time.

This is the first time I could not finish a bowl. First time at this outlet. Broth was not too tasty and the noodles too soft. There was also a strong pork oil aroma which I did not like.

My very first Qiu Lian Ban Mian was at 1 of the coffee shop at Pasir Ris in the early 1991. Today, I had it again at Lau Pau Sat with my daughter(20 yr old) and it's still tastes the same. The soup was flavorful, not too salty or blend. The noodles texture was al-dente! The mince pork still tasted the same like during the 90s. Definitely will patronize Qiu Lian stall again!

Broth is good but she boils the noodles directly in the broth which causes soup to get starchy. I might get the broth without noodle next time... Stall doesn't take nets, cash only.

I think most of the bad reviews are from the soup version. I tried their dry noodle and it was great! It was flavourful and the noodle is really nice ☺ the best part is from the anchovies. It really gave additional unique taste to every bite ???

Lau pa sat stall that only accepts cash or kopitiam card (10% discount). Can imagine the queue to be rather long during peak period - there is only 1 person manning the stall, from taking orders, cooking and cash collection. This is one of the many Qiu Lian outlets in Singapore! Unfortunately, after setting up so many stalls, it is rather difficult to control the quality, and does not taste like it’s former glory. #1: Qiu Lian ban mian (6/10) Warm and hearty bowl of noodle soup, that will be perfect when you are feeling under the weather. The broth is slightly cloudy, very light, and to be honest, rather diluted for my liking. I fancy those that are robust or simply more flavourful. Generous portion of noodles, which were rather starchy, with a slight al dente bite. Dish is topped with crunchy anchovies, fatty savoury minced meat, leafy green vegetables (Chye sim) and an egg. Pity the egg yolk was also overcooked instead of being runny. Prices have increased to $5.70, and works out to $5.17 after the kopitiam card discount. Takeaway containers are 30cents.
