Definitely very good plate of masala thosai. Crispy, thin and potatoes were good. However, I won't say it is miles better from others in little India, and not sure I will queue for 20-30 min again. One thing tho - pls note the crispy cereal thosai is more like a dessert rather than a breakfast kind of meal!!!

The Indian lady is just rude. I asked whether they accept CDC voucher and couldn't hear the Malay lady's answer because she was speaking behind her cloth mask. I asked her again because she was interrupted by other customers. The Indian lady shouted from the back "Said 3x already we don't accept CDC vouchers". I told her that I couldn't hear (and honestly, what's the sin in checking again?) FYI to the Indian lady - it is no issue to us that you don't accept CDC. Maybe you are upset because many people are asking the same. How you run your business is not our problem but people have every right to ask. Learn to be patient. It's a good thing the Malay lady is at the front serving customers because she is more patient and understanding. Thus, this 1 star just for the Malay lady. The Indian lady could learn a lot from her. A nice attitude goes a long way, woman. Also, came home to find we are missing our Appam set. I hope that money halal for you.

Appam (SGD $1 Plain, $1.50 Egg) @ Rajarani Thosai. . Specialising in both thosai and appam, it's easy to spot this decade-old stall where they painstakingly hand-make their dishes - just look for the longest queue. . The Plain Appam has a piping hot soft moist center with fragile lacy edges, and a grainy savoury sweet salty flavour. . By contrast, the Egg Appam has a fluffy pillow soft center with the crown of egg, which lends eggy sweet notes. However, the lacy edges are much less prominent. . Both are served with grainy orange sugar which lends a layer of sweet flavour, yum.

Knowing that this is one of the most popular stall & despite staying in this area for ages, I have not once tried their thosai. Was told by many that they serves one of the best thosai in town. I usually spot long queues at this stall during peak hours & it really depends on your luck as the malasa sometimes runs out as early as 12 but on certain days, it’s available at 1pm. A single serving comes with a generous portion of well marinated, flavourful soft potatoes & onion bits wrapped in the thosai.

This hawker centre serves the morning crowds and most stalls are closed in the early afternoon around 12.30pm. One of the popular stalls is the Rajarani Thosai which has good Thosai selection. I tried the plain thosai $2.50 and masala thosai $4 and both were really good. The curry given was very good. The Puttu Mayam with the coconut was good too.

What does TAP encapsulate? Right! Thosai, Appam, Puttu mayam. They are undoubtedly the signature delicacies here. This stall always has a persistent queue, but the good thing is that the queue move quite fast, unless there are big orders along the line. Typically its about 30 mins of queuing or less - worthwhile wait if you ask me, and nothing compared to the hard work the friendly stallholders put in to faithfully serve the diners, rain or shine.
