β β β β β One of the oldest wet markets around. You should take a work around the market to get a feel of what's it's like from a local culture stand point. The market is considered clean and hygienic as compared to 30 years ago when I visited it in those days. You have to get used to the 'wet' floor as it is part and parcel on our style of wet market. The stalls are selling a wide range of fresh meat, vegetable, fruits groceries including an aquarium stall as well as a fresh flower stall. The latter two are no longer common stalls in the newer markets.
Definitely worth a visit if you are a tourist in Singapore.

β β β β β The satay bee hoon must eat $4, maybe can eat 2 plates, tau suan is good $1.50 very carefully prepared deep flavour not too sweet, bee hoon goreng has charred flavor,not oily $4, coffee is nice $1, he blended his own coffee beans

β β β β β A good market to hang out over a cup of coffee or a meal. Used to enjoy the satay beehoon but with this current situation, the portion has dwindled. Still taste alright but you may have to order two portions

β β β β β Best satay beehoon I had ever eaten. Thick peanut sauce, well sliced and thick pork and thick cuttlefish. Unfortunately a small piece of cockle. But the taste is awesome. Go for big plate $5.50.
