β β β β β Throughly enjoyed our dining experience here. The meats were well seasoned and grilled to perfection. Favourites were the cherry tomatoes wrapped with bacon, ribeye and fried garlic chicken! Food was reasonably priced too.
Overall, an unpretentious place with good vibes. Great to chill with family and friends over a couple of drinks. Love the cute signboard! Sure to visit Sa Tae Bak again. ?

β β β β β Chance upon Sa Tae Bak because a buddy cycled past the place. Thought we should try them out. This is 2021 Sept end.
We weren't disappointed. Happy with the quality of food and the staff's attention .
Sa Tae Bak originally gave me the impression it was a Korean BBQ Skewers JOINT. It had a Izakaya feel to the place but also a Very local Vibe to the whole concept. Sa Tae Bak is also a play on words of Hokkien - Three Piece of Meat / Fatty Pork / Pork Belly..... Even possibly "Satay" Bak......
Tucked away along Bali Lane. It has lesser human traffic unless you purposely walk by that way. There is minimal parking but easily accessible by the MRT station - Bugis.
The place is fronted by Howie, nice gentleman business man and a great host! Very apt for a Place like Sa Tae Bak. Wendy was also a great company working very hard hosting, serving, cleaning and doing everything in her stride!
The place serves grilled skewers, beers and Sake / Wine.
Very similar concept to a Izakaya. Grilled Skewers and Beers!
Happy Hours for Beers starts from opening at 530pm till 730pm . So order your beers sufficiently.... We did not get to try the sake selection but will probably do that the next round.
We had a bit of everything as much as we could.
Pork Belly with Onion, Enoki Bacon, Pork Cheeks, Grilled Squid, Fried Mid Wings, Cucumber minced Garlic, Fried Chicken Skin, Grilled Mixed Mushrooms, Grilled Sweet Potatoes, Grilled Ray Fin, Grilled Chicken tail, Grilled Leeks and the Star of the menu in my books - Grilled Rice Balls that I got seconds!!
The skewers are well grilled and the charred taste was noticeably present. Personally, the next time I am there, I will probably ask for the skewers to be grilled a little longer as I would not mind them a little bit more charred.
Skewers come with Sambal with lime which was a great touch and goes well with everything we ordered.
Looking forward to the next visit!!

β β β β β Love the signboard of this shop! It's really cute and unique! It's a cosy little shop so it is great for conversations!
Some of my favourites:
Grilled rice ball: winner of the night, it is crispy and very flavourful with their sauce on it.
Chicken meatball: soft, tender, well seasoned!
Yuzu sparkling sake! Totally matches every single dish tonight
Heart artery: love the texture and the taste! If u don't like intestines, u won't like this item. If u do, u will love it.
Chicken thigh, pork cheek, heart, pig tongue, gizzard, fried chicken skin and fried chicken soft bone are all worth ordering!
The mix mushrooms goes really well with the sambal chilli and lime, same goes for the skewers!
The sweet potato and mid chicken wing are okay.
Will definitely be back again(:

β β β β β Delicious and savoury yakitori in this little eatery hidden from view on the Main Street. The petite portions make it a nice follow up supper from dinner for catch-ups to. Really enjoyed the chicken tail and enoki bacon especially.

β β β β β Cute little hole in the wall tucked away on Bali Lane. Tried the squid, chicken thigh, liver, sweet potato, & lady fingers. All was really tasty. Great spot to pop in for finger foods and beers!

β β β β β Tucked in the small lane, Bali Lane, this place has been a nice little location for yakitori and beer. The food are fresh and nicely cooked, the beer are cheap and the services are fast and nice. Personal favourites are the grilled rice balls, grilled rice cake with bacon, the deep fried soft bones, enoki bacon, quail eggs, chicken skin and gizzard. All nicely flavoured and cooked.
We sat outside in the narrow walkway but the dinner session is still pleasant. It is a nice little outlet which we will come back again.
