WHere's my diary entry My Science Centre discoveries All that happened on 18/3/2022 I went to the Science Centre on 18th March 2022, and went to all the following exhibitions, learning different science concepts while enjoying my time. My family of four entered the Science Centre once again after a year of saying goodbye to it. The first new thing we saw was the optical illusion chair. My sister wanted her to be the bigger one and said her famous quote (as given in the caption.) The angle of the camera could turn me into a dwarf sitting on the chair while my sister, who seemed to be oversized, was pointing at my head. My mother, who was our β€˜professional’ photographer, refused to take the picture in the given position as my sister demanded that she wanted to appear bigger, thus moving the camera forward. After some humiliating dialogues said by my sister to me, we moved on to the next exhibition. The use of the science of whatever you see is bigger nearer than further was perfectly demonstrated through this photo. Entry 2: Interesting rubik's cube solver (10.20a.m.) This machine was perhaps the second-best experience in the whole place. First, the machine will open with a solved rubix cube. I will need to jumble it and then place it back in the black box. In it, the faces of the cube will be scanned by laser and a screen will show the colours on each side, while calculating the solution. A robotic arm would then open the door on another side and place the rubix cube on the solver. Although the speed was relatively slow, it was a great experience as it managed to at least solve it. Entry 3: Butterfly Garden (11a.m.-12p.m.) After some time fiddling with the machine, we went to the butterfly garden, paying an additional $14 for the admission fees. In it, we learnt interesting facts about the different types of butterflies, especially the Atlas moth, which just emerged from the cocoon today. Its wingspan is about 25-30cm and seems too big as compared to other butterflies or moths. There are also three microscopes in an air-conditioned room in the middle of the exhibition. (The crystal-like structure) The picture that was used for the advertisement on the left explains it all. I stayed there and even managed to video a time-lapse of a butterfly breaking open from its own cocoon! We then headed to the colouring room so that my sister could colour a free butterfly using the colouring template given. Free refrigerator magnets were also given as souvenirs. This was also my first time being exposed to so many butterflies at once, as I had only previously seen them flying individually in the park. For the first time, I studied butterflies focusedly and knew a lot more about this seemingly small, but visually appealing creature. Entry 4: Are you fast enough? 12-1210 p.m) After going to the Phobia House and Know you Poo! Exhibition (Not showing to prevent vomiting on computers and reduce noise pollution of fear) my family went to an exhibition about ageing. One of them explains our reaction time being associated with our age. Looking at the picture, you might already have known the rules of the game: Step on your own colour. I only have one comment: Lucky Me! My sister stepped on my colour twice accidentally while she was finding her next target! In the end, I won 19-15 after a minute of thrilling competition. My sister ALMOST threw a tantrum and made a sad face because she always wants to WIN. Entry 5: Souvenirs (1230p.m.-12.45p.m) After a whole day of exhibitions, who would not enjoy more than gifts! With a $5 coupon, my sister bought a $12.90 automatic bubble blower (left) and I bought something I do not know but have seen in TMBS (right) for $11.90. The best bubble solution was to add a 1:1 dishwasher and water ratio. Around 3-7 medium sized bubbles could be blown out in every attempt!

It was a great experience for my kid. Good - 1) Waterplay area is good since its reopened. It closes at 4.30 PM Bad - Time slot of 2 to 5 wasn’t enough to experience everything. Must have atlease 5 hours with waterplay area as well.

Nice place to take the kids. Due to COVID19 many exhibitions are not ongoing but still few items left to provoke thought on the young minds.

We went there during the pi day and when there are still SMM and capacity limitation. Ticket only allow a half day visit and many exhibits were closed to prevent Covid spread. This make the visit less interesting. Just hoping that all the measures are now lifted and it should not limit to only half a day visit so that children could slowly explore every part of the science centre

It’s been so long since I have been to science centre and they have updated so many of their exhibits. There is also many new sections added to educate children (and also adults) on technology, urban planning, etc. This is definitely a family-friendly place to be if you are interested to find out more and experience science. This is also a place for children to have fun and also spark their curiosity on science topics!

All kids of primary and pre school will come here at least once a year. Learn, hands on, watch, play, interact, have fun and let them have that mindsets to unfold their creativity.

5 Star for the kinetic playground outside the center. A lot of science based play structure and very fun and well maintained. Job well done. Kids can have a good time there.
