You can come here if you have any problems with your violin/viola/cello, the owner (Shaojun) is very knowledgable in this field as he was trained to be a Luthier in Utah for many years. There are a few instruments in the shop are handmade by him! Impressive!

Shaojun is a highly talented luthier. You could entrust your beloved instruments in his hand and he always does an excellent job! I will strongly recommend him for commissioned instruments and his repair services, and not to mention the wide range of instruments and accessories in his shop!

This place is by far the best music shop in Singapore! I was looking for a professional violin for some time and got to know Shaojun by chance when I was googling for a violin shop. Apart from violins, there’s also a wide selection of stringed instruments like violas and cellos too. Bought my professional violin from him last year. and he’s really so knowledgeable and patient! It’s really rare to find good instruments at such affordable prices.

I came just to change the bridge, but thanks to Shaojun for going the extra mile to polish my violin. It looks so shiny now ? like a brand new violin

My Synwin violin had a broken bridge that needed to be replaced. I didn't really like their craftsmanship (the bridge was too thick and wide at the feet) and after finding out that it would cost the same amount of money to get it replaced with them as with Shaojun Violin Shop, I decided to get my violin fixed with him instead because I trusted small business owners better than large business owners. I was very pleased with the work he did, the bridge was terrific and well carved to fit my synwin violin. He was even nice enough to polish the violin (not varnish as that changes the sound) which restored the shine on the front. It sounds better than before and I paid what I would consider a modest price for it everything. I'm just docking a star because it took a few days longer than when he said it would be finished by to collect my violin and I needed it. But great service and craftsmanship otherwise

Tl;dr - Shaojun is an honest, humble, and professional luthier. I would entrust my violins to him for servicing and repairs, and trust his opinions on what needs to be done. I recently brought two of my violins to Shaojun for some feedback and adjustment. He was very patient and polite in answering my questions, even though the violins were not from his shop. He also did not recommend the most expensive adjustment options after inspecting the violin. One of them I had thought needed a neck adjustment and a new bridge due to lower-than-usual fingerboard projection that seemingly caused some playability issues in third position, but he checked and opined that planing the fingerboard (which cost only 1/3 of a neck adjustment and new bridge) would be good enough, and that the current measurements were within acceptable range. I also considered an upgrade with him, but he was not pushy about selling his violins. Instead he honestly advised that there was no rush to upgrade as my current violin would last me up to Grade 8 musical demands. His after-sale service was excellent also, as he was responsive to queries -- with no consultation fee -- that I had about my violin sometime after he made the adjustments. I will definitely go back to him for future violin-related matters, be it routine servicing, major repairs, or an instrument upgrade.

Really cool dude, made my experience enjoyable and he was super sincere about everything I asked for some trivia about my purchase and he was able to supply some. Best violin shopping experience I've ever had!

Dropped by the shop twice so far. Even though I know nothing about violins, could tell that the service was extremely sincere. The first visit saw me accompanying a friend who needed her violin serviced. Besides recommending her a few affordable options, Shaojun gave us a brief history of her instrument, which deepened my appreciation of handcrafted violins. I dropped by a second time when I decided to purchase my own instrument to learn on, and when he knew I'm a beginner, he kindly and patiently demonstrated a few pieces on a range of violins. Haven't decided on my purchase, but am touched by the service because it didn't feel like it was done for the sole aim of profit at all.
