Shixiangge 食香阁（目前没有分店）

Is a decent place for lamien. Altho i did prefer my friend's claypot beehoon. I usually like the soup clean and wholesome tasting. The lamien broth was lacking a little umami. The 肉夹馍 is great though, it is fragrant down to the last bite. Worth a try.

Not bad for a coffee shop Ramen ? Chinese stall. The $6.00 bowl of soup noodle has the quality of a restaurant, but very little meat for that price. The rest of the taste and quality make up for the cost.

Great for their la mian (just that the beef for such dishes are usually tough) Their szechuan dumplings (red chilli chao shou) is fantastic as well! With sauce that screams umami, perfectly seasoned pork and generous in terms of stuffing proportions. I'd like it more if the skin is thinner but that's just me.

Ordered no. 2 (炸酱面), la mian portion was a lot, noodle texture was a bit firm. There's some tofu bits in the minced meat sauce and it was very savoury. Overall it's a good and affordable meal. Will be back for other dishes!

I read a lot of positive reviews to this Chinese noodle stall, above Bishan bus interchange, at happy cafe. They are selling authentic noodle food ?? 北方面食 Came 1145 and no queue yet, ordered by a kiosk next to the stall and paid at cashier hassle free. There are 2 more ordering kiosks on the left wall . Ordering kiosk is easy to use. 1. Place order at ordering kiosk 2. Bring the ordering chit to Pay at cashier 3. Wait for the number to be displayed on screen (like McDonald’s ) 4. Collection , take utensils , chili 5. Enjoy I was impressed by their blue ray sterilizer they used to sterilise chopsticks ? and spoons ?. Didn’t see anyone does that in Singapore ?? so far! ?? I ordered a mala braised pig intestines ramen ? $7, one size- regular size. This one of signature must-try dish and fetched many great feedbacks. At first mouthful ? , the noodles was a bit too springy .. i tried the soup , not so spicy but refreshingly sweet, not oily/mala . After slurped another mouthful, the noodles texture was just right and and intestines was very tender , flavourful and big pcs (4pcs in total) authentic and shiok !! After 30min , the stall were surrounded with quite many patrons. There are other food like 凉皮， 肉夹馍 $4.50，beef noodle $6 etc Will definitely come back to try other food

3.5 stars. Waited 25 mins during Saturday 1pm lunch hour. Ordered a beef dao xiao noodles, a bowl of Ma la claypot rice noodles and hong you chao shou (dumplings in red chilli oil). The dao xiao noodles is soft and springy, the rice noodles is average, the beef broth is light tasting compared to Taiwan style darker and heavier tasting broth. The beef comes in a good mix of lean and fat meat, soft and tender. The dumplings in red chilli oil is 60-70% flour 20% meat and 20% vegetables , so it is good for people who prefer to eat more dumpling skin than the ingredients. Will patronise again but will not order if there’s a queue , not really worth the wait. Overall slightly above average

My family and I came here for the first time to try the la mian. I was expecting it to be quite busy, but there was no queue at around 1PM on Wednesday. The portions were decent and the noodles had a nice texture, though I didn’t care too much for the minced pork topping. My family enjoyed the meal.

The la mian was good. Like the noodles are were firm and springy the soup was really delicious as well. But just be warned portions are big so don’t over order. The red sauce dumplings was good as well, skin was nice and thin and the filling had a good texture to it. Will definitely be back but might not order the mala option the next time as the lips really got quite tingly
