I especially like that with Sensei Seah we are also doing kumite training and HIIT training as a "cool down" at the end. In my old dojo, we always just did the boring katas (sorry to say that, but after some time they are indeed boring) over and over again and having gradings. I did not feel myself confident with my brown belt as I had no kumite experience not to mention my physical condition. Now, at least I feel much fitter and proud to my current grade. Thank you, highly recommend. Note, there is children karate classes, too :)

I enjoy the Kobudo training. I have never had the chance to practice Bo previously. It helps to complement my Karate training for better Karate performance. Both Sensei Teng and Sensei Seah are more than willing to share their experience and knowledge. They always explain in detail on the fundamentals and applications, accompanied with personal demonstration to ensure we fully grasp and master the techniques. Basics (kihon) is always being emphasized to help us build a stronger foundation. We always strive to continuously improve ourselves and Senseis are very approachable for us to ask for more guidance. Senpais too, are also very friendly and helpful in extending their guidance. Overall, it is a healthy and positive environment! Looking forward to more exciting things to come!

I have been sitting beside the tatami for years by accompanying my wife, a professional karateka. I have never thought I will ever start practicing karate, especially at 35 with no previous martial art knowledge. By visiting different dojos in SG, I encountered that senseis could not explain the purpose and reason behind a specific move they teach, not to mention that carrying out a proper warmup is a challenge for many of them. Besides being aware of sport science fundamentals, Sensei Seah and Sensei Teng are also real professionals. They explain every detail behind every (essential) move, which helps a lot (especially in Kata) why a move is made and how to execute it. Compared to the average, at Shudokan, the standards are very high, but I see a straightforward development path under the Senseis’ guidance. As a plush, at Shudokan, there is no age or level limit. There is karate class for kids, karate class for adults, and kobudo class as well. Almost everything about Japanese martial art is available there! Highly recommended!

I am the father of a 10yo boy training at Shudokan Karate Singapore. Myself a former practitioner of martial arts and other forms of hand to hand combat techniques, I am impressed by the integrity, sense of discipline and methodology that both Sensei Seah and Sensei Teng apply in their daily teaching to adults as well as children. I could not but notice the improvements in my son's skills and, most important, his positive attitude in and out of the dojo.

I have been training at Shudokan Dojo since Aug 2020. Even though I have been practising karate for many years, training at Shudokan has really deepened my understanding of karate and its application. I appreciate how Sensei will explain the purpose of the technique and how it should be applied in real life. Teaching is also not dogmatic here – we are encouraged to think for ourselves and challenge commonly accepted techniques to improve on them. This has definitely made karate more interesting and fun for me. Highly recommend!

Highly recommended if you are planning to pick up kobudo or karate! Love how the classes are conducted with a deep wealth of knowledge from Sensei Teng and Sensei Seah. Having also done other martial arts, the experience here is entirely different. The incusivity of the senseis, senpai, peers and their willingness to help you improve is unparalleled. Nuf said, you should just come and experience it yourself.

I’ve been training at Shudokan Karate since 2017, after returning from studies in Japan where I first picked up karate. Sensei Teng and Sensei Seah helped me build a stronger foundation for techniques based on the Inoue-ha school of karate. Training sessions are fun with a good mix of kata and kumite, and there’s always something to learn and improve on!

It is wise choice for me to kickstart my Karate journey in Shudokan Dojo. Sensei will patiently and diligently explain the purpose of each Kihon and focus on engage which part of body muscles and joints to enhance our understanding. The mixture of Kihon, Kata, Kumite and physical training that makes my karate training more interesting. It is exhausting but very fun. I also get the chance to join Kobudo class that is not commonly available. Proud to be part of Shudokan dojo team.
