Just happen to discover this place. I tried the Penang Char Kway Teow. It's taste very similar to those in Penang but not like the Chulia Street store in Georgetown Penang la.

Penang CKT is really good, not oily at all, sufficient spicyness, and low in calories. $3.50 for 500 kcal of goodness is totally worth it. Makes the indulgence guilt-free. Penang laksa at $3.50 for 290kcal, nice balance of spicyness and sourness. I would definitely go back for the CKT, though the laksa is more for people who can appreciate this style.

They call this Penang Char Koey Teow? With all due respect, it is nothing near at all !!! Some writers says they have the Wok Hei, I seriously doubt so… they have what I call fried until super dry… do the uncle remember towards the end to sprinkle some water to make the Koay teow juicy enough??? ….. A person who brave enough to call themselves selling Penang CKT, they must brave enough too live up to Penang CKT standard. I just wonder, when was the last time they ever tasted their own CKT? Sorry to break it to ya…., it is too bland and simply not a personal preference of mine.

Found this place after a random search on Google. The Penang laksa served here is very rich. The tamarind was already good enough, but the noodles with the onion and mint leaves cut through the brothy stock.

A old couple managing this stall focusing on 2 dishes - Penang Laksa and CKT. The CKT leans towards the lighter side, not utilizing black sweet sauce. The initial taste was mild flavored. As you go through the plate, one get the mild wok-hei and flavours. Not in your face but I appreciate it. The cockles they used are the small ones and the beansprouts are cooked just nicely, retaining its crunch. The egg wash was nicely fried and 2 prawns for a $4 order.

Was in the vicinity so tried out this stall. Reached around 1:30pm and the Penang Fried Koay Teow just sold out ?. Anyway, saw that the uncle preparing more than 10 packets of Penang Laksa for takeaway. Seated around there also many people waiting for tar pau orders. Hmm.. the laksa must be good too. So tried it out. Not disappointed at all! Lots of fish and the soup has a nice tangy taste and flavourful. You can help yourself to the har cheong (prawn paste). Cost $3.5 per bowl. Can eat!
