Been cutting my hair at this place since NS. Love the no-fuss place and it's old school style. The place looks closed on the outside since the door is closed, but unless it's grilled up, it's open.

Cheap and down to earth hair cut. The big reasons why I like this place are for the ear digging service and tradition nostalgic feel. Good service too...

Opened since 1961, Mr Ong has been the icon of this neighborhood.. I started visiting him for my monthly haircuts since 5 years back and never considered any other barber since then... Come inside this fully air conditioned barber and be instantly transported back to the 70s and 80s along with 95.8fm radio music playing in the background. Friendly Uncle Ong looks after you like a traditional Chinese barber would; tell him how short you want your hair by indicating the number of the clip you want (with #1 the shortest length botak, up to #5) If you like, let Uncle Ong know and go for the full package, which includes a shave with the most traditional chair you can find where you will lie back for a clean shave.. if you are old school enough like me, go for the hair wash on the sink and even the ear digging. Costs $14 for everything and takes a full 30-40mins for it. Modern barbers in town offering the same service with much less experience are charging above $40 for the same. Otherwise a normal haircut is at $10 which is very detailed and no time limit like those QB cuts out there. Even those new barbers out there in town are charging upwards of $40 for the same service. Support Uncle Ong and this traditional true blue old school Singapore trade that is fast disappearing. (And yes, the blue tiles are original)
