Very professional school, all the coaches are very qualified, especially the master coach Zhang coach, who once coached the Singapore national team coach. He is also the coach of Lin Dan and Shi Yuqi, with very rich experience

My 2 duaghters are training here for a couple of months. Pros: nice location for those staying in the east, and kids seem to like the sessions. There are multiple senior and junior coachers and around 20-30 kids so around 4-5 students per coach. Cons: Many of coaches are like teenagers. There is little flexibility when a kid misses class due to vaccination or when SUTD is closed and they need to arrange make up class. They will give very limited options for make up class. No refund. Kids with tight schedule will find this frustrating. Always try to make parents pay for 3 months in advance 3 weeks before the exisiting month ends.

My 2 boys have been training in SBS since Pri 1 and after 8 years (and counting), we’ve seen the progress in our boys. Singapore Badminton School is not just a training ground for my boys, it is a community where my boys grow up in too. Coach Zhang is dedicated towards his students and he believes that while unleashing the students’ potential, character building is equally as important. Thank you so much, Coach Zhang; for his sharp insights and guidance. Thank you to my boys’ respective coaches too, the oversea competitions/exposure organised during pre-covid times and the dedication and passion.

Must wear their training attire to attend the training. If you never wear they will expect you to buy in order to enter the training venue. Purchase of additional attire is needed if your kid is not wearing their training attire. Their yonex T-shirt cost $35 per pc. I have also explain to the coach that due to make up lesson and also wet weather my kid training attire could not dry in time and he still expect me to buy in order to let my kid enter for training. I feel it’s very inflexible despite my explanation. Make up lesson are only available on weekdays. If I don’t buy the training attire I cannot let my kid enter the court. By the way I travel from the north to the east for 30 min car ride in order for my kid to learn the badminton but due to the inflexible and ask to go home I decided to ask for refund. Refund is also not allow despite the adv notice. This school training fee is also very expensive as compare to other badminton school in Singapore.

My boys have been training under SBS since Pri 5 for around 5 years I saw how the boys developed from a novice to school team players under SBS wings. The school is very systematic in their training and pays a lot of focus on training their players well in their foundation skills. Although SBS assigns different set of coaches to the different levels of classes, the Chief Coach, Coach Zhang Qingsong (who talent scouted Lin Dan and trained Liang Xiaoyu and many other players who represented Singapore in international tournaments) personally designs and oversees the training programme at SUTD. SBS has a structured scheme of promoting players from intermediate to advanced class once the players' skills advanced to the next level. This is very beneficial to the players as they will not remain stagnant and will learn skills, techniques, strategies and game plans at advance level. SBS coaches work very closely with the parents and provide regular feedback & advice to parents on the players' areas of improvement as it takes a village to groom a child. Coach Zhang even offered us parenting advice on communication with our teenager boys! SBS will go the extra mile to support aspiring players who are passionate and want to excel in badminton by reviewing and reflecting on their matches. The coaches are very nuturing and encouraging towards the players and selflessly share their competition experiences and how they cope with setbacks. The coaches are assertive in their coaching yet patient and will always have a listening ear to hear out players feedback. The boys also love the fact that the players were being sent to the SUTD track and gym for physical training. Thank you SBS and all the best to SBS and its players!

A dedicated and professional badminton school that not only focuses on improving the students' badminton skills to the highest level, but also nurtures their character through sports. My son trained with vthis school since he was 11 and we saw how the school made him a more disciplined and focused individual. Pros of the school: - Committed and competent coaches who bring out the best in students. - Nice location with a mall nearby. - Good facilities, such as the gym - Different training groups, ranging from beginner to advanced, so students of all age groups are welcomed. - Wholesome community where students with the same interest in badminton are able to have fun and bond together - Systemic training Cons of the school: - May be difficult to find makeup lessons as the demand for their lessons seem to be quite high - Fees may be a bit pricey, but definitely worth it considering the healthy and supportive environment to develop young kids as competitive sportsmen - Coaches are strict, so your child has to be able to follow instructions in order to reap the full benefits from their lessons. Although they are strict, they are also able to interact well with kids to make sure they have fun.

Singapore Badminton School is one of the most renowned & prestigious badminton school in Singapore. Coaches are all very experienced and dedicated. My 2 children trained well under their rigorous training. Lessons are engaging & students are grouped according to their level, hence I followed very closely to the training schedule assigned to us. So far, there is no problem asking for make up lessons as I will give advance notice and follow the given replacement slots, which thankfully is based on my child's level. As SBS is a highly sought after training centre, with many students, I really appreciate their understanding in accommodating my child's needs. Despite my girl's hectic schedule with 6 tuition lessons, SBS is still able to slot her in for make up lessons. Even after her covid vaccination, I have no problem arranging for make up lessons.
