Went to Jesse for an ankle sprain and a wonky shoulder and was incredibly impressed by his honesty, optimism and determination to help his clients heal. Unlike what others may think about chiropractors in Singapore, he adopts an exercise-based methodology, so no unnecessary cracking, quick fixes or 15-min consultations. Expect him to give you his fullest attention and a highly curated set of exercises that will progressively help you in your recovery. Jesse is also very knowledgable and experienced. When I first had to address my ankle injury, he was the only one I consulted who told me that my ankle wouldnt see a fast recovery, and indeed he was right. No false hope here, just real talk!!! He’ll also check in time to time to see how you’re doing, so the entire journey can be tailored to your progress.

I came to Jesse cos the doctor recommended gooing for surgery for my slipped disc and sciatica and I really don’t want. I am only in my 30s so I feel like surgery is too extreme. But the pain was quite intense. I came to Square One Active Recovery cos they sound so differenet from the other people I have seen so I decided to give it a shot. When I first came to Jesse, my company already approved me for unpaid leave for 6 months. I was surprise when he encouraged me to try to go back to work. I thought he was crazy. He assured me that it’s worth a shot and even showed me the studies to show that people who return to work has better recovery outcomes. Because his Google reviews so promising, I decided to listen to him and give it a shot. For me, work is very difficult cos cannot focus. I work in tech so when the pain comes on, it’s very hard to get work done. The pain is insane. It’s not just like those normal back aches. It’s really pain until cannot sit type. I also have shooting pain all the way down to my toes. Sometimes when it gets really hard, I get electricity shocks as well. It’s really like torture. Going back to work is really not easy. I liked that Jesse always follow up with me for the first few weeks to make sure I am coping okay. He also gave suggestions on what I can do to tide through the period. I think what’s most impressive is how creative he is with solutions. Usually doctors will just give you one advice and repeat the same over and over again. Jesse actually took time to ask questions and find out everything about my work so he could help me. I didn’t end up being 100% pain free. I still get some mild aches and pains at my hamstrings a few times a week. However, I am still super happy because I get to live my pain. This little pain is really nothing compared to what I was living with before. Before coming to Jesse, me and my wife even had to cancel a total of three holidays cos I not confident of being able to sit in a plane! I like that Jesse is honest and respectful about what will work and what wouldn’t work. He laid it out very clearly that the results I get may not be 100% given my condition. Even though he told me that from the very start, he still tries very hard! I appreciate it a lot cos some of the chiropractors and physiotherapists I saw previously will say my condition is very serious and no choice but to keep coming back. Jesse pushes hard for results, and I am very thankful for that. If you have disc herniation and sciatica like myself, I highly recommend checking out Square One Active Recovery. Yes, it is true that I still have some pain but I have no regrets. The results I get from them is way more than everyone else I consulted with before.

Best chiropractor in Singapore! I've decided to try out Square One after many years of suffering a chronic injury. I've tried many options, sports doctors in the past few years for my back pain and none of them were effective in alleviating and managing my pain. However, after going to Jesse for only 3 sessions (with zero chiropractic adjustments!!) so far, i'm amazed with my own progress and the prescribed treatments are effective in helping me manage my pain. Really recommend going here if you've dealt with serious long term injuries and have had no proper solutions.

I came to Square One Active Recovery because they promise long-term results. I’m already physically active and exercise very regularly, so I was a bit skeptical when I realised they are using exercise to help people with their recovery. I am already exercising and I still have back pain right? So, I just cannot imagine how their exercises will be so much more effective than my own training. Regardless, my lower back pain has been going on for over 10 years now. I can exercise and do everything in daily life but what really affects me is that I cannot sit for too long. Work is really affected and that really frustrates me. Because I’ve to keep going for chiropractic adjustments and massages. At some point, I was going for massages 2x/week. That was when I realised it’s enough. I must say that working with Jesse was incredibly refreshing. Unlike the other crack and go chiropractors I have worked with, Jesse has a methodological approach to recovery that gave me a lot of confidence that he was the right person for me. True enough, I started to see improvements in a couple of weeks. By the second month, I was already pain free! I was genuinely impressed. It’s definitely clear to me now that not all exercises are created equal. I am surprised by how his simple exercises were so effective at helping me. The upside to using exercise for recovery is that I am stronger now than I have ever been before. I am able to deadlift AND squat more than before. If you are currently seeing a 10-minute chiropractor who always do the same thing for you everytime, I highly recommend that you give Jesse a shot. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of hard work, but it’s 100% worth it!

I was looking for a chiropractor for my dad’s back pain and neck pain. Because he had some other health issues, we not comfortable sending him to a normal chiro that does manipulation. My dad is a trunk driver and lived a sedentary lifestyle. First session with Jesse was very good. Not only did he explain to my dad what’s going on, he also engaged myself and my mum in his discussion. After the session, he check in with us over the week to see how my dad was going, and even give advice for me and our family on how we can support our dad. The exercises really difficult for him cos his condition is over 20 years already. We also found out on the first session that actually he has muscle wasting of his left arm. Like, the arm is literally small than the other side. Something we didn’t even know about before. The first few weeks was tough cos the exercises can be very painful to do. Jesse was attentive and patient, and always changed the exercises based on my dad’s feedback. Even though my dad was struggling and sometimes never do his homework, Jesse never blamed him and doubted him. Quite refreshing cos the previous physio we saw will always just blame my dad for not trying. Jesse also always make sure the exercises are okay for my dad and give him the option to do a less intense programme if he needs. I think overall Jesse is a great chiropractor to work with if you are willing to give yourself the best shot. There’s definitely a lot of hard work but even if you are like my dad and everything also cannot do, Jesse will still have a solution for you. At the start we very worried that Jesse’s approach only work for fit and strong people. We were wrong. His creative and yet systematic way of recovery worked wonders for my dad. Now my dad is back at work and can do housework like before. Not only is he pain free, his mood and self-esteem is better. Last time he always feel useless cos cannot do housework and cannot carry anything. If you want good results, go see Jesse. Highly endorse!

Easily the best chiropractor in Singapore!! Jesse was super patient with me and his explanations really super detailed. First session went over 2 hours ? Unlike other chiropractors that keep telling you you full of problems and why you need treatment, Square One Active Recovery really focus a lot on education. I learn more from my first session with Jesse than my entire year with my ex chiro ? I like that they don’t hard sell chiropractic packages at all. In fact, they don’t even have a sales person or receptionist ? Since my frist session with them, my back already start to feel better. The more important thing is I can see real changes in my life. Last time carry baby back ache will start but now can carry for longer before it starts. THANK YOU SQUARE ONE! If you want permanent results, definitely worth checking Doctor Jesse Cai out. Highly highly recommend. Bringing my mum there next month.

I picked up long distance running over COVID and ended up injuring my hamstrings during training. I first tried to self-manage my recovery and did a bunch of exercises that I saw on social media. Initially, I felt it was helpful but both my hamstring and knee pain would always come back when I started extended running again. It got really frustrating and I decided to consult with Jesse. I chose Square One Active Recovery because there are not many chiropractors in Singapore who have worked with athletes. I was impressed by his experiences in sports clubs and his track record. Working with Jesse was very insightful. Jesse is very detail oriented and leaves nothing to chance. It then became obvious why my own rehab didn't work. After working with him for a couple of months, I was able to return to running with no pain whatsoever. Jesse doesn't just perform chiropractic adjustments and tell you to "see how it goes" or "see how you feel". He always have a recovery plan, and was able to advise on next steps and the possible outcomes. I was impressed by his astute understanding of my case. If you are suffering from knee pain or having trouble with getting back to sports, I highly recommend working with Jesse!
