Edit: Recently went back with a group of foreign students, and saw an interesting ritual/festival.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been going to this Temple for years and always got positive vibes. Wasn’t able to ho since covid.
Today i went to this temple and felt out of place. I did archanai for Periyachi Amman, the priest asked for Guru Dakshina openly before even letting me take blessing. I paid $3 for archanai which says Banana Archanai, and I did not even get raisin which we usually do. I gave him flowers too, which he did not use during archanai. Not sure if this is a new practice by handful or priests/temples. Nonetheless there are good priests/temples despite the bad experiences.
Extremely disappointed with how things are going right now.
