The peanut candy is handmade by Uncle. It’s very crispy and crunchy. A little sweet for me but the texture makes up for it n keeps me grabbing more for the crunch. Plus it is hand made, old school way. Also bought some pineapple tarts, Uncle says he only makes during the CNY season. Half the price of all the fancy schmancy marketed ones. Good enough for me.

Nice flaky crust and rustic shop interior, most of the pastries are handmade and you can taste the care he puts into creating them, the skin could be a little more buttery but I still enjoyed it 100%. Also remember to try the peanut brittle candy!! Brings me back when my grandfather used to buy lots of traditional snacks back for the whole family. Worth coming all the way down and it's also affordable, pastries are $1 each and a small bag of peanut candy and traditional candy made of puffed rice/ sesame/ wintermelon/ meringue will only set you back around $1.20. The uncle is going to retire without anyone else to carry on the business, this is one of the old but gold places but make sure to visit before it's gone forever

The proprietor is getting on and sometimes the biscuits seem to be stale. There are some old school treats which are not easily available elsewhere

Very traditional confectionery shop with the main focus being the house made peanut candy. Unfortunately, can't say much about the freshness of the items since there are not much customers yet there are plenty of pastries and biscuits displayed out. Went for their peanut candy and bought four small packs of different varieties: peanut, white sesame, black sesame and soft sesame candy for $1.20 each. Loved the hard ones, crunchy and mildly sweetened with a tinge of ginger. Can't say the same for the soft one as obviously made and packed since some time ago that the candy has harden thus making it hard to bite through, a little bit like rubber.

$15 for a pack of peanut candy? Is this as advertised or was I fooled? Hand for size

I like the peanut candy, costs $3.50 for a box. Hardly see this candy around nowadays. Uncle has been doing it since young and doesn’t have a successor. If you have concerns about the freshness, buy the packaged confectionary.

One of the last remaining traditional cake shop. My favourite is the peanut cake bits but was suprised to find that he made this peanut cake himself! $2.5 , $5
