Taste of India Restaurant Pte Ltd - 77 Rangoon Rd

Taste of India is a pretty good Indian restaurant with a huge variety of Indian food including North and South Indian. The location is quite convenient as well - just across the Farrer Park MRT... I would say it's priced slightly on the higher side but still worth a visit or maybe more.

Surprise surprise ! Awesome food from Taste of India ! And hey , they allow you to use Fav app as well so you actually do get a rebate during the next visit. Recommended dishes: Rohan Josh mutton, masala mushroom , aligolbi , the chicken Tikka is a must, fish Bryani dum is a must, and don’t forget the butter garlic naan. The spices used are not too heavy or intense. So you would actually enjoy the food! Go try it.

Extremely slow and poor service. Took nearly 20 minutes to serve my food although the restaurant wasn't full. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty, the staff didn't offer us any assistance, we even had to ask them for water. When we requested for iced water we were given a jug of tap water and ice cubes on a plate. We asked a waitress for papaddam and as she was retrieving it another waiter stopped her and told her that "(giving) papaddam is a compliment and not an entitlement." What? We *requested* for it. We had to ask this waiter again this time and he frowned at us and reluctantly got the papaddam for us. Extremely disappointed by his rude behaviour. As for the food, portions were extremely small too. Quantities wouldn't be enough for an entire family. The food was average. The samosas were crispy and savoury. Naan was slightly hard and sour. Chicken tandoori was well-marinated but the chicken parts they gave were certainly not ideal as they were full of bones. Gobi manjurian was a little too salty and came in an extremely small portion with only five pieces of cauliflower. The butter chicken was one of the worst I've had, there was no butter in it, it was not creamy as it should've been and there was a strong taste of tomato. Chicken Biriyani was flavourful but not exactly the best. Prices are not worth the small amount of food you get. The restaurant itself looked pretty ordinary, a casual place. Parking is limited. Ambience was ok. Not very crowded usually. Won't recommend due to the terrible service.

First Time visiting this place. Was introduce by a fellow indian colleague. He mentioned that this place is less crowded compare to the main stream of indian restaurants along race course where the bigger players are. Dishes he ordered were all nice.. e.g. chicken 65, prawn 65, fish tikka, egg plant and etc... sad the papadum was not very very crispy though. ? After eating these dishes, I do get abit thirsty rest of the day. Price wise.. can't really comment but service was good. Even there is only 2 staff around. The sitting capacity is not huge... maybe 30pax +/- range? Location is great.. walking distance from Farrer Park MRT and after eating, u can proceed to the 24hrs Mustafa to shop or City Sq mall.

Should be renamed to distate of India. I ordered Chana masala & veg Manchurian from Food panda. Both turned out to be abhorrent. Veg Manchurian(gravy) should be sour but it was sweet & dry. Chana masala tasted more like Chana daal. Its a scam that the ratings are so high for this. Do not order from here if you are visiting Singapore.

Absolutely pathetic service by the restaurant. The order gets delayed every time you order for pickup and I had to wait more than 45 mins from the pick up time promised... the staff might as well be not there, cause they seem to know nothing... either the order didn't come through or system issue or some bullsh*t reason every single time... and the ordering platform "Foodpanda" says they're "taking this very seriously". And we all know what that means... Zero change, the next time around... Bad experience. Never buying again. Would give 0 stars if possible...

Visited this place yesterday, our company have arranged a team party. Restaurant manager was so nice, though there was no option of dinner buffet, he arranged for us with proper dining space and we had a good time. Decent food, must try are mutton fry and deserts.

Amazing experience dining there! Food was exemplary and they were very generous with the protinon! Definitely will be visiting this restaurant more often. One of the best and reasonably priced restaurant. Keep it up! :)
