My son had been terrified of composition writing since P1. He’d always complain about how writing was a chore, took 3 hours to write a 100-word composition and sometimes burst into tears and questioned why compositions even exist. He loves to read. Yet, according to his teachers, his ideas were all over the place. When P4 rolled around, we’ve finally decided to enrol him to The Alternative Story. Much to our surprise, my son enjoyed his lessons! Under Teacher Mae Ann and Teacher Aaron’s guidance, my son’s grades gradually improved from borderline pass to 31-36 out of 40. He had also represented school in writing competition. He writes with ease and confidence now, and I cannot thank Teacher Mae Ann and Teacher Aaron enough.

My girl has been with Teacher Joyce @ TAS since P1. In the beginning, she wasn't used to the 2-hour lesson and had short attention span but Teacher Joyce had been very encouraging and her lessons are always packed with many activities with lots of fun. She would sometimes inject some higher primary level information for the kids' exposure. The 2-hour lessons soon become a breeze and in fact my girl can go even longer. Knowing her class weaknesses, Teacher Joyce would sacrifice her own family time to prepare extra notes and offer customised zoom lessons. My girl had had replacement classes with a few other teachers and all are equally very passionate in educating. My girl enjoys English subject and is doing well at school. TAS is definitely THE CENTRE I would recommend to all.

My girl has been with Alternative story since P4 with teacher Elaine. She received her PSLE results and she scored A* ! The materials from the centre are very comprehensive and detailed. It break down on the areas that the students are supposed to take note of and how to refer when needed. Teacher Elaine is exceptionally passionate about her role as an educator! She will give constructive feedback and also put in extra effort and time beyond the planned time schedule to help the children. Great job!

My girl has been with Alternative story since mid of P3 with Teacher Joyce via the online mode of learning. Under Teacher Joyce’s great teaching, not only did I observe gradual improvement in my child’s writing skills week by week, I noticed my girl’s confidence level was built up steadily throughout the weeks. Teacher Joyce has demonstrated her exceptional dedication to teaching through her regular feedback on improvement areas and learning progress for my girl. She put in extra efforts and time beyond the planned engagement hours by working alongside working parents like myself to update on my girl’s learning progress. She had also spent time to prepare additional revision materials for the children during the exam period. I sincerely appreciated her going all these extra miles. Last but not least, my girl loves all those short engaging media and videos used by Teacher Joyce during class! As a more visual and active learner, this had help reinforced the good quality writing phases for my girl and believe these will stay with her for a very long time. Thank you TAS for having such a great teacher! She’s a GEM!

My son who is average in English, making many grammar mistakes in speech and writing improves tremendously after joining TAS. His composition was selected to be in his school's model composition book. TAS also provided him with a lot of detailed notes for grammar and synthesis which he felt was very helpful and he did very well for English in his 2021 PSLE. We are extremely grateful to Teacher Elaine for her dedication towards all the students.

Teacher Joyce is one of the most dedicated and caring teachers I have encountered. She had gone the extra mile in helping her students in achieving their potential. She and the TAS team is very good at engaging students online. My son joined TAS from end of p5 and attended lessons fully online for a year. It was both efficient and effective. He had gained much confidence in all components of the subjects within a year. Thank you, teacher Joyce and team.

I would definitely recommend my friends to TAS English tuition, the materials are very good and powerful. Grateful to meet teacher Joyce who is very responsible, marked the homework carefully. She has give a few free classes to help the children. She is always willing to answer all the questions after class. Really a good teacher! Thanks.

My daughter have been with TAS since P3. Teacher Elaine is diligence, dedicated & caring. Her lessons are always fun & fascinating! My daughter learnt many useful techniques on how to answer different type of questions and to write a better compo with good phrases. Teacher Elaine spent alot of efforts to her students especially the P6s & during this pandemic. She give extra lessons to the P6 and ensured that they are well prepared for the exam - 并肩作战 "Teacher Elaine, Reinie was awarded for the most Improved in English Award & thank you for your encouragement". You truly are the greatest teacher ever. Thank you!
