Exactly as Miss Tam Chiak say “Come for the Fish Soup, Stay for the Beef Hor”

Fish Soup very nice. Goes damn well with the yam rice. Heard beef horfun is nice, will try it next time.

Pretty decent fish soup, homemade taste. Lots of veggies in it. Beef hor fun is really good, beef slices are tender and the sauce is really yummy!

Was googling for a steamed fish stall for my dinner and came upon this. Not exactly steamed fish but it does have a range of fish soups and dishes. Ordered a red grouper fish soup and the highly recommended black bean sauce beef horfun. The horfun was really good with the sauce being flavorful yet not salty. The beef was nicely cooked as well and was really tender. Surprisingly, what disappointed me was more of the fish soup. Yes, the fish slices was fresh and thick, but the soup itself lacked the authentic fish soup flavor that it should have. Instead, it was more like white cabbage stock soup with fish slices. Pricing is fine with $8 for the soup and $6 for the beef horfun. Will definitely come back again to try the other dishes - not the fish soup but the stir fried versions ?

2nd visit on Monday... Yam rice was nearly out of stock, tastes delicious still. Also tried the claypot fishhead with mushrooms $18, good flavours and comes w lots of yam pieces. The spicy chicken chop (cutlet) was still good $8. Tried the steam fish slices on vermicelli $12, good value although some of the vermicelli was a bit hard, so we put it into the claypot sauce, yumz... ? A friend sent a review from Miss Tamchiak on this place. Was looking forward to its beef hor fun but fell completely in love with its yam rice, each small bowl is $1.20 but full of yam and taste of the dried shrimp. It was a nostalgic heartwarming taste. Beef hor fun was ok- lots of slices of tender beef. Sliced fish soup & fried chicken chop (with Thai chilli sauce) were OK too. Won't order the meat roll (hei zor) again, as it was very average. The meal for the 4 of us came to slightly above $50.
