โ โ โ โ โ The rice sets are especially nice for me, though a bit spicy for those who donโt take chilli.
Porridge is ok, especially the meat balls are quite tasty, though the porridge can be a bit thicker.
Decent food, good atmosphere, and a place with photos opportunity at the back.
(Tip: If you donโt want buy bottled water there, they have a cheaper option in the other section of the menu)

โ โ โ โ โ Good variety n they open till late. Some meat dishes can be better done as the standard varies when I came n try on both times. Char siew can be slightly fatter as it's a tad dry.
Traditional chicken cutlet was good.
We enjoyed on the whole with a filling stomach.

โ โ โ โ โ Heard quite a bit about the place. Decided to go for dinner 18Feb. We were early and could get a table easily.
Menu was old school papers like and variety of food choices was massive.
Food ordering was done via QR code and payment could be a choice for online payment or at the counter.
Coffee was amazingly fragrant and up to standard. I am a regular Kosong Gao drinker and this is very good.
When our food came, the portions told us we over ordered.
The white kway chap was unique. But (sorry owners) nothing to boast about, maybe we chose the duck set when it could have been better with the pork belly or not intestines? ??
Lamb stew crispy noodle was good. Soft mutton on crispy ็้ข ??.
Curry rice with dory fish ????.
Thinking the plain pumpkin porridge was of a small portion, a monster came. The porridge was really good but just too much.
We thought based on the price comparison of the porridges, the plain version should have been much smaller?.
Satay with ๅ
้ณsauce ???.
Prawn fritters was like bigger than golf balls filled with lean mince meat and prawns. Amazing. ??????
As mentioned, when the dishes came, the portions were overwhelming. We paid for a take away box and took food home.
We saw other diners also over ordering. And many tables with heaps of left overs. ??.
While itโs not inside a normal scope of the service team, It would have been a really encouraging if they could help observe the orders vs table size and propose / suggest to the diners or warn them about the portions so as to get the right amount of food with minimal waste.
Overall, very encourage to revisit with a better mindset of portions and etc.
Thanks Hainan Story Chap One.
Add on 21Feb Great Pork Chop!!

โ โ โ โ โ The best Coffee I ever had.
The nasi lemak portion is very generous with lotsa curry gravy and sambal chili.
The laksa gravy can be thicker.
The fried prawn is crispy and flavourful.
Their Satay are tender and nice when dipped with their pineapple and peanut sauce.
Not my first time there and will never be the last too.

โ โ โ โ โ Ordered almost every dish on the menu, and everything tastes good. The laksa was full of flavours, not the usual very lemak type, but tasty stock. Mutton n oxtail stew tastes exactly how a typical hainanese family wld do it, delicious ? Oh Wee Nam Lee chicken rice has kept its standard here too ?

โ โ โ โ โ Love the ambience here. Good service by friendly and attentive staff. Visited this place multiple times. My hubby loves the condensed milk bun with butter so much, always orders this whenever he is here. Milk tea is not too sweet, coffee tastes rich and creamy. Both the Hainanese curry rice and Hainanese chicken chop were delicious. Will be back again!

โ โ โ โ โ Overall all the food here is great! Nice and clean decor. The curry rice and laksa is a must try. The honey and butter toast was also really soft and nice too. Tried their ice cocoa drink as well, recommended! Very good service as well! Will come back

โ โ โ โ โ Love the lively atmosphere and good service here. Very wide variety of foods (porridge, toast, desserts, rice, pastas etc). Coffee is smooth and fragrant. Must try their freshly baked egg tarts. The pumpkin pork porridge portion is big which can be shared. But the pork has to be marinated longer as it taste a little gamey. Will be back again to try out other dishes.
