Went there for a routine haircut, unfortunately she is going to relocate to a home based business. Would follow her as I have been getting my hair done for years! Need to book appointment by calling her mobile number first.

Uneven haircut that seems to show more of my damaged hair rather than making it less obvious. My first perm was done here... and boy, this experience will most likely make it the last. I know bad reviews severely affect businesses but customers should be aware of what they're in for - seriously, pay a little more somewhere else because I'm spending much more to fix my hair now. Worst of all, the perm/ cutwhichididnotaskfor did not match what I wanted. So, if you're feeling a little adventurous, go ahead. Surprise yourself here with some lovely, damaged hair. And in return get blamed for not purchasing their aftercare products as being the root course for the damage. Unbelievable.

Contemplated really long if I should write this review as I have been a regular customer for the past 5 years or so. The baseline is, you definitely pay for what you get. Joan is not the best hairdresser out there, nor the worst. She could only do a very specified type of perm (shown in photos by other reviews) for the young (auntie-style bee perm is not in our discussion here). And yes, I agree with other reviewers that she was not able to produce what I asked for twice (either more towards the wavy or tight side of the photos other reviewers shared). I dun have not much complaints about that specific design though - as they lasted for at least half a year to 3/4 of year with hard work using the cream that she recommended, which, tbh, is expensive to me but works better than other cream so it is money worthwhile. As for colouring, yes, she has always insisted it is ammonia-free. I am quite neutral on that i.e. i dun fully believe it nor disagree to it. I visited another hair salon who used some cheap-skate kind of colouring to be hair and it was unrepairable. Joan than told me that it was a result of ammonia colouring. However, my coloured hair by Joanne did not turn up with the best quality either - they get dry very quickly even with maintence. Could be because I did the perm right after the colouring, which I heard from others that is not the best option but she assured that it was ok. (this happened some time back). Even so, at least the hair colour she used was better than the previous salon in terms of causing less damage, which is unpreventable if we are doing so much to healthy hair. Second, there r definitely rooms for improvement with regards to her cutting skills - she often cut it too short due to her oversight, or not in the layering style that is nicer (when there is no need to perm). If you have done perm before, you would know that it is quite a disaster for the hair to be cut too short as the perm will make it even shorter and for the first week i seemed like some kind of auntie with beehive hair. Again, that is fine, because when the hair grow out in the second week, it turned out to be really nice. Conclusion: For a neighbourhood hairdresser, she is probably above average compared to the rest in the neighbourhood. She is honest with her price range as well, and has rarely raised the price which is honestly very modest, especially if her claim that she uses only ammonia free products holds true. Her price is probably at least half the price quoted elsewhere. It is also a safer option if you want to go for that specific type of perm design she is good at, which is really not bad a perm design, given that the perms will loosen up later on and it will eventually turn out to be the style you desire for. However, if you have extremely specific hair styles/colours/length you have in mind, I will not recommend here, reason mentioned in the above. To Joanne who may be reading this: Keep up with the good work! I like how you are able to throw in advises about haircare/dressing through a short time frame - demonstrates your knowledge in the industry, unlike what other reviewers have said. I also think that it is pointless trying to pinpoint which customer left reviews as nobody will actually be honest about it, hence such anonymous reviews. It is also possible that people create new accounts to leave bad reviews, like how others do so to leave positive reviews, so it is really pointless to "call the police" about this....

Update: Just went to touch up my hair color, great as always. --------------------------------------------------- Long time customer, been going to Hair Impression for many years. Last did my color and had my hair cut at hair impression a couple of weeks ago. The cut was good, nicely layered to a curvature which frames my face really well. Over the years, have tried many different brands and color for both highlights and full head color, always turn out well. Had used Inoa hair color for many years, which is ammonia free and this had become my go-to brand/color when I want to do full head color. Price is very reasonable as compared to other places for Inoa color. Last visit, I decided to try something and to bleach parts of my hair, but was a little apprehensive in the beginning. The lady boss explains well on the various processes and the chemicals that she would be using plus the post color care that I need to do for my newly bleached hair. She recommended products to use but no hard sell techniques. the hair cut plus the carefully bleached and colored portions created a multi dimensional look. I really liked the end results, totally recommended.

Hair Impression certainly left a big smile on my face. Their hair services and treatments offered are exactly what my hair needs. Not to forget their newest supporting customers - both my mom and sister. They had their hair done just the way they needed. On top of what this saloon offers, i love love love love how genuine both Arina and her boss are. They’re the nicest & humble two souls who takes their passion for hair styling to a whole new level, also catering to every customers’ needs. Keep up guys! I’ll bring more of my family and friends over.

Joanna has very loyal customers who really appreciate her and her work and have been with her for years. So I cannot say that my experience will be the experience of most. I wish to give my opinion for the sake of transparency, and so that others may have the information to decide on whether they wish to have their hair done at The Hair Impression. I have two main complaints: Firstly, I felt a little mislead concerning the hair dyes that she uses. She emphasizes that her salon uses organic ammonia-free hair dye, but both times I got my hair dyed , she used ammonia products. I also returned home with a headache - could have been the smell of the chemicals. Secondly, both times I got my hair dyed, she was unable to give me what I had shown and asked for. Update: went to a professional hair salon. Was told that they would never do a perm on bleached hair as it will completely damage it. Joanna seems to lack expertise and knowledge in the field of hair dressing.

Did colouring on my hair roots and japanese perm at the salon a week ago, together with hair treatment on the same day. Whole process took around 4 hours or so and the result was fantastic. The curls are lasting and still looking good. The lady boss explained that the hair would be dry after perming and advised that I buy some products for after-perm treatment. I did as told and the products indeed made my hair back to its soft condition after a week of using. The colouring used is also ammonia-free! Will definitely go back again.
