I use the studio for my podcast regularly. Absolutely brilliant place with cool and friendly staff like Satish and Atikah.

I’ve been using this studio for 9 months now and it has always been fuss free and a pleasure! Although sometimes there might be some technicality issues, they’ll try their best to solve it.

Really disappointed customer: I have never written a negative review (I usually write good ones!!), but I felt strongly compelled to do this because of a very disappointing experience I had at the Hive Lavender, Singapore. The whole experience was fraught with unprofessionalism, last minute changes, a lack of follow up, which culminated in the location manager unilaterally cancelling my booking without even consulting me on it. I was impressed on my first visit - the office and premises are beautifully decorated but unfortunately, my impression quickly changed when I met the location manager. My recce timing was messed up, and I waited about 40 mins to see the podcast studio, by which time they were already closing. In the days after, when I was trying to call him to arrange stuff, there were days I would call several times (both on the landline, work mobile, SMS), but couldn’t reach him. When I finally got through, his staff told me he was out and would call me back. I never received a call back. On the day when I was bringing my clients for the recce trip to take a look at the studio, he called me an hour before to tell me the podcast studio was not available. By then, it was too late to reschedule or change as my clients were on their way. He then set up the equipment in a room with poor acoustics and spent a long time fiddling with the set up. I took the audio clip home to listen it, and it was quite poor (perhaps caused by the poor acoustics as well). By this point, I was quite upset at how everything had panned out but decided to give it one last shot and arranged another visit so that I could be sure that there wouldn’t be any issues on the actual recording day. I sent the location manager an email outlining just 2 basic expectations that I had: (1) To be sure I can have a clear audio recording (without poor acoustics and audio interference) (2) That my audio file can be exported on 2 tracks The night before our arranged visit, he again sent me a last minute email unilaterally cancelling my entire string of bookings and saying that we had a mismatch of expectations. He reiterated that they were a shared workspace and the podcast studio does not come with professional technical assistance. I found this both baffling and infuriating. First, he cancelled on me unilaterally even after all the inconvenience and embarrassment he had put me through with my clients. Second, all I wanted was some assurance (after the string of mishaps earlier) that I could have a clear audio recording. I’m not sure how much more basic that request could be. I’m writing this as a word of caution to others who might be thinking of booking the podcast studio, but more importantly, I hope the Hive management would take some action to ensure that its business would not be damaged by an irresponsible and unprofessional member of staff.
