My experience with The Moral Childcare Centre (TMCC), dates back to 2 Dec 2009 when I enrolled my elder son at Nursery 1. As a first-time mother, naturally I had many doubts and guilt leaving my first and only born at that time, in the hands of strangers. I sat in with my son for his first lesson in the childcare for about two hours thinking that was the best way to induct him and get him to familiarize with the new environment and people. Soon, I learnt that the security I hoped to give him was not going to transpire in that manner, as I felt him clinging on to me even more tightly. I realized to let an eagle soar and explore, the mother has to learn to let go first. Let go I did and found my son developing into an independent boy, equipped with the life skills he needed as a young boy, and who soon could speak confidently even in Chinese, even though we were from a non-Chinese speaking home. My pleasant experiences with Ms Geetha, the principal of TMCC, boasted my confidence in leaving my child in her care and that of her teachers. I could go to work in peace knowing that my son was in safe hands. Being part of the Parent Support Group from 2010 till 2014, gave me further insight in the programmes planned by TMCC and allowed me to witness the dedication of the principal as well as the teachers in ensuring a safe, very clean and cognitively-stimulating environment for the children. Our team of parent volunteers grew closer and bonded well, as we worked very closely with Ms Geetha, till the time our children graduated from TMCC. Even after the children hadgraduated, many of us went back annually to help Ms Geetha and her teachers organize events and programmes for the children as we believed that TMCC under Ms Geetha’s helm of leadership had the well-being of the children at heart. When it was time for my second son to attend a childcare centre too, guess where my elder son recommended? Of course, The Moral Childcare Centre! He insisted that his younger brother should also attend the same childcare as he had, even though he had graduated four years ago and was already in Primary 4 by then. What better testimony can a parent get about a childcare centre other than from a child who had spent five years of the foundational stage of his life. Even though we had many childcare centres near our home, my husband and I went ahead to enroll my younger child at the Moral Childcare Centre. Our faith and trust in the centre did not go in vain as my son very quickly adapted to his new environment and soon came back home with smiles. Not once have I attended a parent-teacher meeting held by TMCC, as there is no better feedback about a child’s learning process other than from the child himself. Every day I hear my son happily singing the songs he has learnt and tells me what the teachers have told him. I even hear my 2 Β½ year old non-Chinese speaking son reciting the national pledge in Chinese, as taught by β€˜Zhai Laoshi’! Kudos to the Moral Childcare Centre and continue to soar in nurturing the young hearts! From, A happy parent cum Parent Support Group member
