โ โ โ โ โ Dont get me wrong... I love the food... but I can no longer tolerate the extreme rudeness of the 2 ladies serving at the counter! I will get my fix anywhere else but at this stall!

โ โ โ โ โ My first time trying out this food in my whole LIFE!!! where has it been hiding all this while!!??? My friend told me that it is a dying tradition and I really wonder why. It has all the interesting healthy ingredients every health freak would be looking out for.
I was looking for something light and without MSG. My friend recommended the brown rice bee hoon assortment at the Toapayoh MRT HUB. It was simply splendid!!! All of them had all their natural taste! Not too much salt or condiments. The toppings of nuts and tasty crunchy veggies really made the dish delightful. The green green tea soup apparently seem to be mixed with a generous proportion of basil and green macha leaves needs to be an acquired taste. However, the soup tasted nice both alone or over the bee hoon bowl. But my main preference should be mixed over the bee hoon bowl.
The only thing was the fact that I was sitting directly below an aircon vent making my bee hoon cold pretty fast. But it still tastes nice, making it a bit like the green tea Japanese noodles I ate before in restuarants. It was probably cause of the air-con location making the dish a bit pricey than other parts of SG. But I had a lovely meal last night with my friends since we topped our healthy meal with a shared plate of Rojak and a glass of fruit juice each. We thought we had ate lots yesterday for our mini-gathering. But from our home made vietnamese popiah lunch to our thunder tea dinner, my scale this morning did not pop but dipped!! This could also probably be due to my morning ride before lunch & our 15min evening walk to the flat of my friend staying around the vicinity.
I would probably hunt more around SG for more Thunder Tea options before this Hakka dish disappeared. Hope this traditional health dish survives and Singaporeans get to know of its unique health benefits. Next time if I have a larger appetite, I might just try the brown rice option.

โ โ โ โ โ Preferred their main branch near Joo chiat Road. Generous giving a little more tea paste soup if preference more thicker soup. Found it these branch little lack of customer care.

โ โ โ โ โ It is a little pricey (as mentioned in all the other reviews) but the taste of this is great! The different crunch-es from the different items, from ikan bilis to peanuts to the vegetables even, it really adds texture in every bite. Not to mention that the vegetables were perfectly seasoned and cooked, so when mixed with the green soup, every flavour is just enhanced
Will definitely return again.

โ โ โ โ โ Love that their brown rice is soft and fragrant.
The green tea soup doesnโt have the bitter aftertaste that some stalls have.
I enjoy the mixture of texture with crunchy nuts and anchovies with soft rice and other vegetable. A very healthy option.
