The queue was super long and the situation is really chaotic. We decided to wait it out and then order while eating food from other stalls. Finally got to order at about 730pm when the queue died down. $3 plate is like a scoop of noodles, really miserable, looks like a tasting plate. The hokkien mee is nothing to shout about. Wonder what’s the hype. I won’t queue for this, it’s not top 20 in my list of hokkien mee stalls to go for.

Hokkien mee is nice and abit chao da taste. Its not the usual yellow kind, its abit browish and the smell of the broth is succulent. Prices $3 or $5, suggest order a small one to try first.

Have to agree with some of the other reviewers here. I've visited this store on several occasions within this month. The first time I tried, it was pretty decent, there was a good amount of wetness/gravy to the noodles. On my second visit, the noodles were slightly toward the dryer side. The Calamari/Lime given had ants all over, which ended up crawling onto the plate, had to blow them away. Chili, Calamari and Sambal should be placed outside of the store, at the counter so the customers can help themselves, since most of the time the owners forget instructions given by the customer (will definitely be easier on both the owner and customer's side). If the owner is able to fix the above 3 things it will be a 4 star at least as we do not have high expectations for hawker food given the reasonable price.

The wok hei is abundant in this glorious plate of hokkien mee, easily the best one out of 5 stalls or so selling hokkien mee in Circuit Rd Food Center. The garlic fragrant is so appetizing, even just around the stall.

Taste is good no doubt but stinginess of the owners can be literally be seen. The last time I bought from them was months ago where I ordered the $5 portion and the uncle literally picked a few strands of noodles and side ingredients out right in front of me. At the same time I bought a $3 portion and the difference is probably another spoonful. So what I suggest is just get the $3 portion for a quick bite but dont expect it to be a filling meal.

A decent Hokkien mee, depending on crowd levels, wait times can get a little long at times. Must add that portion size difference between the $3 and 5 can be quite large. Hence if you want a filling portion do go for the 5.

Honestly the best tasting hokkien mee I have tried so far, which is quite a few. Definitely worth going to for the price and flavor. Not sure why there's so many haters but I ate here more than a dozen times and Uncle doesn't disappoint. Portion wise for $3 you can't expect more, please be more understanding of hawker prices, we all need to play a part in improving our hawker culture. If you are hungry order the $5 and stop complaining. This is the dryer kind of hokkien mee, not the wet and watered kind. Yellow noodles with thin beehoon in the mix. Thou this doesn't have that many ingredients, only bean sprouts/prawns/eggs/pork. But the taste of it, which I can't empathize more, is truly exquisite. Other stalls that use fancy ingredients and cost 2-3times more aren't even close. Sliced chilli padi and fried pork lard as garnish which definitely completes this dish. I think the magic is in the broth base and of course Uncle's frying skills. What's more is the stall operates till late, a lot of the time past 12am. I urge you to give this stall a try if you like hokkien mee, and support our local hawkers.

Had a go at this stall's fried prawn mee. The method is quite old school and authentic. The flavors are good, the chillies add a nice heat to the noodles, not too dry not too wet. Didn't need the upih leaf gimmick like some other places. My only gripe is... the $3 plate and the $5 plate which i ordered almost the same size the only difference being an additional 2 prawns added to my plate at the end, before presenting to me...
