It's a historical building, this place has prayers' hall for people to pay respect to their ancestors. Sometimes very crowded especially for the month of Qingming and 7th month festival. Limited parking lots, if they have events going on, you have to park your car at nearby HDB car parks.

I called to reserve a date for praying ? but on the vary day my name was not in the praying list 5th Sept 2021. On the other hand, during making reservation, one of the admin express herself in an atas manner n the manager Mr Ho behaved in the same manner. A very rude and arrogant manner was exhibited. They might have forgotten the word 善。谢谢大家。

The admin staff is horribly blur and incredibly defensive of her own competency level which is really non existent. Completely rude and rushing to put down the phone when we want to confirm things. And also we have absolutely no idea why the temple would want to comfirm our attendance in prayers when its happening in dec and its only oct now. It makes even worse sense especially when the current covid restrictions are only till 21 Nov. The restrictions would have changed by then. One can only imagine how lacking they are in for their thought process department.

Geomancy-wise Toa Payoh area is described as a lotus land of the Southern Dragon in the Lion City. So it is no surprise that many temples are now located in the area to serve the worshippers. In the mid Autumn of 1942, Toa Payoh Seu Teck Sean Tong (新加坡修德善堂养心社), a member of Blue Cross Charitable Institution (新加坡中华善堂蓝十救济总会), was founded in in Hup Choon Hng (Balestier) as a branch of Seu Teck Sean Tong Yiang Sin Sia (修德善堂合春园分堂). The Temple was then only a simple attap hut, but it drew a strong following of many worshippers praying to the Grand Master Song Da Feng (宋大峰祖师). In compliance with the Grand Master’s five fundamental tenets (live, aging, illness, death, difficulty), while his maxim being “Benefit others for self benefit, rescue others for self rescue", the Temple was active in undertaking many charitable works. Encouraged by the development, the Management Committee proposed to rebuild the Temple. So in 1959, the temple building was completed and declared open by Mr. Teo Hang Sam (张汉三), a prominent businessman. The Temple have since completed other extensions and building developments to offer more services to the worshippers. These included the addition of a new floor to the “Seu Teck Thng” Ancestral Hall to accommodate the requests for more ancestral tablet space and the “Kwee Teck Lau Ancestral Hall” Columbarium to house the ashes of deceased forebears and relatives. Then there is the garden, the arch fronting the Temple and its perimeter wall all of which have been successfully completed.
