Toast Box

1/5 stars is a lie. Should be Zero. At 9am, was told by a Chinese female staff that they start operation at 9:30am. Came back at 9:30am and was greeted with a Malay(?) staff, fiddling at the entrance, and told me they open at 10am. Replied him "but the lady there told me otherwise", and he replied "where? Show me".

Coffee is good and consistent at Toast Box and this outlet did not disappoint. It's gets really noisy when the sitting area is filled up. Literally had to raise my voice when speaking. Bread Talk is just next to this Toast Box. It's easy access from the MRT.

Probably one of the worst Toastbox in Singapore for two reasons: 1. Chaotic store management - Staffs yelling at each other and at customers, no visible signs for pepper soy sauce and condiments although provided, tray return station is clogged hence disincentivized good citizen customers who wanted to self-return trays and dirty cups. 2-The plebian 3rd world country attitude and kampung mentality of Tiong Bahru community - Almost everyone hoarded the available tables and seats before they ordered but did not bother cleaning after themselves. Leading to customers who queued and paid with food in hand stranded with no seats to sit and clogging the store traffic. Tiong Bahru isn’t at a fair comparison to the Bukit Timah community and its stretch but I have seen better thoughtful and reasonable community in Yishun and newer BTO areas. Shame on you nasty Tiong Bahru folks!

Big disappointment with your mee rebus! Tried your mee rebus for the first time and it was a big disappointment: - all the menu board and your signboards showed Mee Rebus with a begadil with a cup of barley at $7.10. Slightly pricey but it’s with begedil so its fine. However the mee rebus came missing of the begedil. Upon checking with the staff they said they’ve replaced it with fish cake - tiny fish cake shreds! No one behind the counter mentioned a thing or two about the missing begedil until i asked. Staff even said ‘换鱼饼伺候’. It felt like a mee rebus scam! - the mee rebus was quite watery and is strangely server with chopsticks and chinese soup spoon. No, Toastbox, please respect a well-love traditional singaporean dish. Don’t turn it into a chinese soup noodles. - staff served the chopsticks stained with gravy Overall disappointment. Looking through the review i can see there is a lot of work to be done with your product and staff training.

Everything is wrong about this outlet. Waited 10-15 min in line before a seat showed up for me to enter and order. Stood in front of cashier being ignored by staff who are churning out foodpanda orders. After 5 min of being ignored I asked if I can place my order and staff rudely said : 不可以, 你要等。Then the sign that says no credit etc but didn’t mention Grabpay. So I scanned Grabpay and the staff started to say everything cannot except cash nets PayLah! Grabpay and did not bother to look at my payment that went through. Disappointing signature food quality - traditional toast is different from usual standard Toast Box’s, all squashed flat and butter melted. Kopi is not as bad considering it’s freshly brewed which meant I waited for coffee while my toast was all done and sat there cold. Do not recommend.

Food were same quality as other. Very busy, miss out detail like i don't want bean sprout in my noodle. This is details of people want to visit again.

YY fix again. Drinks quality been consistent, uses my favourite F&N evaporated milk. Yet to identify a favourite brewer.

Curry Chicken with Rice Set... yummy! ? Honest portion of Curry Chicken with chicken wing parts, potatoes ? halves and tau kua. Curry was not overwhelming with just right level of spiciness, and given in generous amount. Had coffee ☕ with milk without sugar.. can taste that it was carnation milk and the coffee was not overly bitter. Paid 20 cents extra for the Banana Cake and it was well worth it. Overall, good experience but the attitude of the cashier could be improved.
