Mr Yu is a fantastic tutor who helped me jump 5 grades within the span of a few months! I used to struggle with Chemistry concepts to the point where I would barely pass my tests, but after joining Mr Yu’s Chemistry class, my grades have improved tremendously, as he explains things with great clarity, has shortcuts (eg CRAyOn and SHOE) to help us memorise, and encourages us to voice out any questions we have. I am glad to have attended his class, and would recommend that if you are struggling with Chemistry, attend Mr Yu’s class and it will help a ton :D

I first enrolled into Mr Yu’s chemistry class after failing my chemistry whetting am E8. After attending Mr Yu’s Chem classes and getting encouraged by him to do extra lessons, i managed to score a A2 for my paper. Mr Yu’s enthusiastic teaching method has made me enjoy chemistry much much more than I have in school, through his thorough explanations for questions and his amazing drawings of various concepts. Mr Yu’s strict teaching ways pressured me into doing my homework every week, which although painful, benefited me in the long run, evident from the ease of me doing chemistry papers. Thank You Mr Yu for being such a caring and awesome tutor!! - I first joined Mr Teo’s Physics class after not doing well for my Physics End of Year examinations. His unique teaching style definitely allowed me to improve many grades. He has a interesting way fo looking and questions and solving them, and paying attention to his teaching definitely helped me grasp his unique technique of approaching questions. I thank Mr Teo for making physics more fun!!

Been with Mr Yu ever since sec 1 and there’s a reason i’ve continued to stay for all these years and half of my life as a student. He’s been the most inspiring teacher i have ever had, not only as a teacher but as an approachable friend and role model i look up to. Ever since entering JC, i’ve always made it my goal to work hard not only for myself nor my family but also for him, because of all the work and care he has put in to get me to the point i am today. His teaching technique incorporates discipline with effective teaching methods thats are easy to understand and apply to our work, allowing students to achieve their desired results extremely easily. Definitely one of the best teachers i have ever had! Mr Teo is also another teacher that I have been enrolled with for a very long time. Been taking Math and Physics with him ever since secondary school with them has been nothing short of fun, wholesome, enriching and fruitful! too and then in JC as well. It’s extremely fun learning physics with him as he teaches in a fun way thats not only easy to understand but easy to apply to questions as well, something extremely essential math and physics. His classes are extremely fun, and just like Mr Yu, he is an extremely approachable and helpful teacher thats displays true care for the students he teaches. I would constantly arrange consultations with him to clarify physics questions and he will always be there to help me properly internalise and understand any of my past queries. These 2 teachers are easily the best 2 teachers i have ever had in my entire life, and my journey of learning

Before I started attending chem lessons with Mr Yu at the end of S3, I honestly really hated this subject. I could never find a suitable or good way to study chem, and I was also reluctant and doubtful that joining Mr Yu would change how I viewed the subject. However, I was proven wrong when I started experiencing his teaching. With his many “close to” realistic chem diagrams and other drawings, together with his detailed and patient explanations in his teaching, I actually started to see the fun in learning chemistry, and I became more motivated to do so, which I am really thankful for. Throughout the years and many conversations held with Mr Yu, be it for chem or even when I seek for other personal advices, Mr Yu has helped me grow in many ways alongside my confidence in doing chemistry. Mr Yu’s lively personality (and his many random lame jokes), together with him constantly going out of his way to provide extra consultations not only shows his willingness to teach, but also his care and effort for every student. It has been a fun and fulfilling close to 4 years in his class, and I can safely say that Mr Yu is both a tutor and a friend to me, and a tutor I’d absolutely recommend to my juniors :DD Mr Teo’s classes have been a joy to attend ever since I started at the beginning of J1. I’d always been fearful of jc math after hearing about it’s difficulty from others long before I entered jc. However, Mr Teo’s detailed explanations and methods allowed me to gain better understanding of math, and I slowly learnt to enjoy it as well. Mr Teo is always very patient when it comes to helping me understand and solve any math problem, and is also able to liven the mood of the class especially since my class is in the morning. He is always willing to give us extra practices and ready to offer us help out of his schedule. Even though I’ve only been with Mr Teo for slightly less than 2 years, I’m grateful for his help throughout my jc math journey, and I’d recommend him to others :-))

I first started lessons with Mr Yu in Sec 3 as I was not confident with tackling the chem syllabus and my school’s exam. Since then, I’ve continued up till my A levels. Mr Yu is definitely a dedicated teacher, and he never fails to answer my questions or uncertainties (even outside of class time). His summaries and tips are also extremely useful for revision as he reminds us of key things to know. I’ve always found comfort in knowing that he who would be there for me if I needed any help with my work :) He would also sometimes tell jokes or ask about us to ensure that we were coping well, as well as advise us on the future.

The Science Academy (TSA) reignited my son’s interest in Chemistry and Physics as well as Amaths. Mr Yu and Mr Teo have a firm & steady approach to these youths… encouraging them when topics were challenging and steering them to push on when their drive was diminishing. Really appreciate the teaching support and open communication between TSA and parents too! Thank you once again!

I have been with Mr Yu since S3 and I completely attribute my consistently high chem grades to his fantastic teaching. What makes him so unique is his passion BOTH for teaching and for his students; I know very few tuition teachers that are willing to shout at you to keep your learning attitude in check. Characteristics of his teaching include, neat handwriting, colourful hand-drawn diagrams, and acronyms, amongst other memorisation techniques, that make the syllabus much less intimidating and, with slight effort on the student's part, very handleable. He also puts in effort to keep the class atmosphere lively, and I appreciate that. Thanks Mr Yu!

I joined Mr Yu's chem class at the end of sec 2 and was able to understand the subject due to his detailed explanations of each and every topic taught. He makes lessons fun by making jokes during class which allows us to stay awake even after a tiring day at school. He always asks us how we are doing before class starts which makes us feel that he cares for us. I really enjoyed every class and would recommend for anyone to join the class so that you can grasp the subject better
