Victoria Hotel - 87 Victoria St

The room was quite spacious, can fully open two large suitcases. TV was a bit small. Strong AC, quite large single bed enough for two people, and room cleaning was on spot. Well worth the price!

This hotel was a lot better when it was owned by Reddoorz. Their hotel prices used to be cheaper back then. Some other company/people decided to take over Victoria Hotel recently(I believe they took over in July 2021) and Reddoorz took back their beds and towels. The new owner of Victoria bought new beds, TVs, pillows, towels, cups and plastic hangers. The bed is extremely hard that it is impossible to fall asleep. Sleeping on it gave me backaches and neckaches. The pillow is sooooo thin that when you lay your head on the bed, your head sinks in and touches the hard mattress. Their blanket was so thin that it could not keep me warm at night. Towel provided is extremely thin too. I get that they are trying to keep costs low but there were many things that felt cheap and of bad quality(like the hangers). They also took out the body wash and shampoo container from the toilet and replaced it with the disposable type of body wash and shampoo(which came in small containers, definitely not enough for 2 people). As they just took over recently, they do not even have hotel key card holder so you have to memorise your hotel room number because they give a blank white room card. At the moment, they only allow people to pay them in cash($50)for the hotel deposit,which is unacceptable since most hotels will allow customers to use credit card to pay for hotel deposit. Check in process was extremely long as most of their current staff are elderly folks so they are not tech savvy and they do not know how to use the computer to key in guests' details. I will not return again considering the uncomfortable bed and the increase in hotel prices(80 plus to 90 plus per night for this hotel is absurd).

Lobby - Inefficient, slow, and the lobby chap was obviously overworked. Started queuing for check in from 145 only to finish at 345. The lobby chap even had to deliver food up + guide people to the rooms while the rest just stayed in line. Room - Asked for a two bed room with windows, but received a king-size with no windows. Wifi is slow and creates lag once you have more than one computer tab open.

Room is small. AC although it is cool, it is badly placed, it blows straight to your head in bed.

A pleasant surprise when I opened the door to my room on third level. Have not stayed in such a different deco hotel before. Looks basic and backdated! Yet it was a pleasant stay for one night. May I make a request/suggestion for the shower head to be changed to a better and newer design type and for the toilet seat cover to be changed as well! It was already so old and used with yellow stains and looks like a public toilet seat !! Those changes will enhance the hotel rooms for sure! Hope management will consider. Overall The space of the single bed room is good! I wish the rates were much lower! Paid $77 for a night is expensive!

A clean hotel, quiet, strong free wifi. The young guy at the reception is very helpful, the old lady there is a little bit slow to process the procedures and she is not friendly and helpful like other young guys.

I hv booked this hotel for long stay, 30 nights. Very pleasant experience. Staff are very professional, courteous and helpful esp Johnson. This is an excellent hotel. Excellent value for money for long stay. Room is very clean and comfortable. Strong wifi and air con. Location is excellent too. Would definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and would be my first choice of hotel.

Location- good Customer service- wasn’t welcoming, took 30-45 minutes to check in. Cleanliness- stay for a couple nights, and they never changed the sheets, took out the trash, or gave us towels. We requested towels later, that felt like sand paper. The price we paid was not equivalent…
