Easy access by MRT. Small place but cosy.

A few months back, I had introduced a good friend from China to host his solo exhibition at Visual Arts Centre. I wanted to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the professional team at Visual Arts Centre, and how they could support the variety of programmes held during the exhibition. I’ve attached some photos of our wonderful opening night. In conjunction with the opening, there was a fashion show of the artist’s hand-painted scarves, and also a live demonstration of his scarf painting, as well as calligraphy. In the following days, he also had some workshops and demonstrations, which Visual Arts Centre was so supportive in publicising on their channels. They were also able to provide the logistics which we required. My friend was very glad to host his exhibition in such a beautiful and central location. He loved the scenic ambience and natural lighting of the glasshouse gallery. The location of the Visual Arts Centre exhibition gallery at Dhoby Ghaut is highly accessible and my guests really loved the space. It was great that the exhibition gallery was fully equipped with facilities that supported an exhibition - they have it all, lighting, hanging system, sound and microphone system, and a projector. Looking back, we would really like to thank Iola and the team for the fantastic time we had working with them, really appreciated their help to make the event a success. The Visual Arts Centre is a very inviting space with the gallery and studio. The modern and clean look of the space is perfect for art exhibitions or any events. I would strongly recommend Visual Arts Centre exhibition gallery as a venue to host any medium-scaled art exhibitions. I find the hire rates affordable for the amenities and services provided. Went to Visual Arts Centre to learn watercolour, the service i received is very friendly with guidance from the facilitator there. I enjoy the classes there with a reasonable validity for me to take the classes. Variety of packages for me to choose from. Would recommend anyone to come here to learn art.

Attended two trial classes on acrylic painting (the first at trial price $48/pax, next session at regular class price $65/pax). Originally wanted to try water colour, but the first instructor advised it is more difficult for beginners so we went ahead with acrylic instead. The ratio of instructor to students is about 1:18. The instructor will go around in sequence so it may take quite long before he/she can advise you on next steps. Also, the styles taught will vary according to the different instructors scheduled on the different slots. Not all the instructors will check on your art proficiency, so they roughly show you a few basics steps and let you test it out. The admin staff are relatively young, and don't really offer art advice (perhaps not all have art background) so you really have to rely on the instructor to guide if you have no art background yourself. Personal experience was we couldn't complete the painting in one session (as we were waiting for guidance instead of just free style like art jamming), so had to return to complete. Don't recommend the trial session but it really depends on which instructor you get (it's just slightly better than art jamming but...). If you're feeling rich and sign up for more sessions, perhaps you may get a different experience

This place is absolutely amazing. The ambience and the environment is just gorgeous and from my very first sketching lesson I felt extremely welcomed. The teachers are extremely efficient at teaching too. They really emphasized on the details and the techniques in a way that is extremely clear and easy for a beginner to understand. After 2 lessons I already felt like I went from being an absolute beginner to someone who actually knows how to draw! 10/10 recommended. This place is superb!

Went for the LUSH popup store at Visual Arts Centre, the staff there is friendly guiding me throughout the time I was there. The place is accessible to Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station which is just above it. I realised they have a studio too, I am curious what kind of service they offer.

I have been taking painting lessons at Visual Arts Center for few years and I love the atmosphere in the studio which is very calming and inspiring. My teacher, Mr. Chong, helps me to progress, his advices are always very valuable and constructive. I always feel welcome by the whole team. I advise you to try these lessons, painting is an activity that requires concentration and surpassing, a challenge awaits you ! Beatrice

The kids had an absolute blast of a time today painting & celebrating at the Visual arts centre. Guided along by a group of wonderful teachers, they created memories and their very own painted Tees :)
