β β β β β Because this is my great-grandfather's batik shop, he sews batik for more than 40 years and he is still running the shop with energy till today. He always sew the clothes when there's no customers, even when he closes his shop he is still sewing at home and sleep very late at night.

β β β β β Bought two dresses from this shop. There are actually two units side-by-side each other, #03-317 and #03-318. One is staffed by an elderly gentleman in his 90s (!) and still expertly sewing - showing the depth of his passion - and the other is run by his daughter who has a great eye for designs. They stock hand-printed traditional batik prints and many of them are unique, vintage pieces as the workshops that produce them are no longer doing so. Prices are VERY reasonable - keep in mind batik is a labour-intensive process that involves multiple rounds of detailed wax drawings/printing, dying, washing, and cleaning. They send the batik fabrics to a special tailor, and they have a signature cutting/style of dress that is really suitable for office wear - knee length, thick quality fabric, elegant prints, pleated flared skirt, and POCKETS on each side! Would definitely come back.

β β β β β Hidden in the Holland Village shopping centre this batik store is great. Father and son manage it. They are welcoming and knowledgeable, taking time to understand what customers need. They are not pushy.
The old sewing machine has been around for long too and is used daily. It is pleasure to see Uncle using it, and he upgraded it to an electric motor for comfort. A great experience

The batik designs of so many different items are just lovely & knowing the story of who made it is special. I just did my Christmas shopping there. I will always keep coming back. Thank you!

β β β β β I love the authenticity and warmth of this store. The prices are extremely reasonable, considering that many other boutiques charge much higher prices for batik apparel. Do have a look at the reversible tote bags and aprons. Theyβre the handiwork of the 95 year old owner and make great gifts.
