I travelled all the way from Hougang to Golden mile just to try this bowl of WTM and it does not disappoint. The noodle had just the right texture with the right sauce for me. I love white sauce wtm more than black or Ketchup and this hit the right spot. The wantons are nice roo. The highlight is the char Siew. It brings a smile on my face and a Wow from my son. This is 2nd to my fav wtm stall at Tiong Bahru but that had since closed down since uncle passed on.

Wanton Noodle Jumbo. A jumbo size order of wanton noodle, count me in. Their Jumbo version comes with a generous amount of awesome char siew, dumplings and wonton in a sauce that has a reminiscent of Kok Kee.

Decent plate of wanton mee with the char siew being the main highlight. Portion is rather small so don't expect to feel full after one plate. A little pricey too. If you're in the area you could give it a shot. Fried wanton side was okay-Has a strong white pepper seasoning and meat filling is not bad although I preferred the boiled ones. Noodle was springy and had a slight bite to it. The noodle sauce mixture was little light for me and I would have preferred more lard oil and soy sauce (but this is just their style). Charsiew came thick and fatty and had a great char. Glaze was on the sweeter side without being overly salty as well. Overall would come back if in the area since it's still better than most WTM-Individual Components wise at least.

Thank you to Sarah Huang Benjamin for her YouTube recommendation of this great wonton mee stall. Golden Mile tends to be a local (as opposed to tourist) food court so it tends to be ignored but the food here is brilliant - and Wen Kang Ji wonton noodles should not be missed. It's classic charred char siew (thick cut for extra juicy flavour and mouth feel) with 'fat' well-filled wontons. The noodles has the right amount of chew (Q) and soaked in a nice sauce (not too much salt or hoisin or soy). I will be back.

Got a chance to try this new wanton mee stall at the basement. Luckily no queue on a Saturday morning. The noodles is just the right texture. Yes. The char siew is very good. Charred to the right degree and one the best. But the wanton is below average. 4 stars for me.

Really good wanton noodles that’s similar in style with the famous Kok Kee. However, Wen Kang Ji is much better, especially the Char Siew. The Char Siew alone is worth the wait. Al Dente Noodles coupled with their specialty stock is a really nice combination. Didn’t like their chilli sauce. Tastes better with just green chilli alone. Overall, love it & will come back to queue again. Yummy ? $5 portion is quite big already. Add a dumpling soup if you are a big eater.

Wen Kang Ji Wanton Noodle 文康記 – Joo Chiat 354 Joo Chiat Road, Singapore 427600 Opening Hours: 0800H until 1700H. Closed on Tuesdays. All thanks to my awesome bro, for the suggestion, we decided to check out this place. Located in the same Coffeeshop as Da Dong Prawn Noodles, this coffeeshop definitely houses 2 power tenants. We each ordered the Jumbo at S$8.00 per bowl. Queue was rather long, and all that waiting had better bring our palate to a good closure. Do not expect plating to be precise and neat. It is not. Now, for the taste. The noodles were flavourful on its own. Egg-ish tasting, fatter than regular Mee kia, slight bite, but not to the extent of "QQ" like Hong Kong styled Mee kia. A tad more watery than most Wanton Noodles. Maybe it works for their case. Think old school. Many know that I'm not a fan of Charsiew, but man, was I in love with theirs. 无间天 cut, aka under-arm, a fatty cut that (to me) makes a good Charsiew. Just look at the photo with the Fat-siew. Love love lurve. Chilli used in the bowl, was a tad sweeter than I would have liked, but I ain't complaining. Just prefer it to be more on the savoury side, that's all. Soup was a Decepticon. Looks so full of flavour, off-white in appearance. Taste-wise? Kena bluff. Expected it to be a kaleidoscope of tastes, from different bone sources. Nope. Bland. Just ... soup. My friend overhead at around 1210H, they have run out of Charsiew. Dude? Closing time is 1700H. Thats 5 hours ahead of schedule! Yup. You read correctly. Out of the awesome Fatty. I can't say that this is the best, but I can definitely say that it is the top few, that I've tried. Along the East Coast belt, I'd choose this, over the complacent, and highly over-rated 飛飛 Wanton Mee. That's for sure.

We heard that there is a new wonton mee stall in Joo Chiat Road. It’s located at 354 Joo Chiat Place next to famous Da Dong Prawn Noodles and it’s called Wen Kang Ji. We have not heard of Wen Kang Ji before but thought since there is a new wonton mee stall in Joo Chiat Road … might as well go try it for Sunday lunch. So we found out later by googling that this wonton mee started from Golden Mile Food Centre. They have 2 sizes small (with they call regular) for $6 and big (which is called jumbo) for $8. The hubs decided to try jumbo (actually he is a wonton mee fan so he loves to eat wonton mee) while my son and I shared a regular (we weren’t feeling so hungry). As someone who is quite neutral about wonton mee, I balked at the price of the $6 regular size (don’t even get me started on the $8 one) … I mean $6 can even get you 2 plates of wonton mee elsewhere! So the regular portion was adequate for sharing, not the small handful wonton mee that you see often in hawker centers. Their noodles reminds me of Fei Fei Wanton Mee’s mee but it’s slightly thicker and slightly more Q which is really quite nice. The char siew is lovely, meaty, caramelised wonderfully and has a nice balance of more lean meat to some fats … yummy! The wonton though a bit small but is quite tasty and meaty enough. Their soup is ok, not the bland soup you get from other stalls but nothing fantastic to shout about as well. For me, the noodles and the char siew are worth going back for.
