Bring an avid classical music lover for the past 30+ years and married to a wife who has been teaching piano for more than 20 years, my expectations of a music teacher is quite high. Recently, I developed very strong passion for the violin instrument as well as violin music and started the daunting task of looking for a violin teacher who can meet my demand and I can't tell you enough how glad I am to have found XJ!!! I fell in love with her teaching method instantly from the very first lesson. First of all, XJ presented herself professionally, dress up appropriately during lesson despite being at home, her demeanor is always very pleasant, calming and patient. She has a structured lesson plan but not rigid as she will tailor it to suit the student's needs. Most teachers out there do not cater loan violin for trial and expect you to buy 1 but XJ kept a range of instruments available for the same purpose. During lesson, she can instantaneously whip out various exercises like Leverson, Schreideck, Wolfhart etc (yes and I mean she knows exactly which particular page, exercise number out of the few hundreds) to target on my weaknesses and I must admit that I'm very impressed throughout these 10 lessons that I had with her, she knows exactly how to help me improve on techniques required at every stage of my learning. I can never imagined that I could progress to grade 2 after just 7 lessons. XJ also respond promptly to messages out of lesson time, providing advice on violin and accessories selection and has always been very encouraging when I'm stuck with my learnings. She is the NO 1 recommended violin teacher for anyone who is serious about mastering this instrument. BRAVO teacher XJ ??

I will like to recommend Teacher Xin Jie for lessons, I had engaged 2 violin teachers for my daughter, but what made her different from previous teachers is that she focus a lot on the details of the music and helped my daughter to brush up on the foundation & I could hear a big difference. My daughter also feel she always picks suitable studies and etudes that correspond to the new skills in the pieces that she was learning. Also she has a organised teaching method with a small notebook so it’s easy to follow through my girl progress, If you are looking for a good teacher to learn or advance your violin skills I will recommend Teacher Xin Jie ??

Ms Cheong is very experienced in teaching, and she is able to cater and match the pace of my learning. After 2 lessons with her, I am able to differentiate the different Major Scales as well as to play basic songs such as Twinkle Twinkle and Lightly Row. Lessons with her is very enjoyable and time seems to fly by quickly. I look forward to my next lesson with her. If you are looking to pick up violin or to further your progress, Ms Cheong is definitely a good recommendation.

Xin Jie is a very professional violin teacher. I took a trial class with her & her sister for the cello as I wasn’t sure which instrument to pick up. They were very friendly and patient, & provided me with really helpful advice without pressuring me to purchase an instrument immediately or to start lessons. I took a few weeks to decide & now I am happy that I have chosen the violin & I have been learning the violin for about a year with Xin Jie. I have learnt many new techniques and I really enjoy her classes. Worth my travelling distance every week!

Xinjie is a awesome violin teacher :) She made lessons really simple to understand and i was able to learn a few songs in a few lessons. She is also very accommodating to when i couldn’t make it to lessons. Do not hesitate to learn from her if you are interested!
