Tried twice to collect the pocket wifi device from the cityhall 7eleven. First time, I was told I needed a QR code (which I never received in the first place, even in spam folder). Contacted them and got my QR code. Second time, they scanned my QR code and told me that there is an error and I need to call their hotline. Yet, I received an email notification telling me that I have just collected the pocket wifi device. Which I clearly haven't. My trip is a day away and I still can't collect my device. My order ID is 13222.

Returned my WiFi unit almost a week ago now and I still haven't gotten my refund back. I have tried to email them as well 3 times now and no response. Update: Y5 got back to me through Facebook messenger and refunded the deposit. Upgrading the rating due to quick response.

I agree with the users that gave very low and lousy review on y5buddy's wifi router service as I encountered the same experience too in using their gadget in Turkey. Don't waste your money on their gadgets. They did mention after usage of 1Gb is met, the 4G network will be downgraded to 3G+ unlimited but it is as good as redundant as we were not able to upload nor download pictures at all. Sometimes when we're lucky, we may be able to receive and respond some whatsapp messages. Most of the time we were connected with the router but no access to internet at all. The total usage of the j whole journey of 10 days in Turkey was only less than 15% plus the frustrations of not being able to access to the network most of time for the rate of $12/day is not worth at all. I do not recommend y5buddy's router for Europe usage especially in Turkey. As for other countries, I have no comment yet but should check on reviews before use them. I used Yassgo for my year 2016 trip to Korea is really super good and real unlimited data usage plus super cheap throughout my 10 days trip. Not to mention just loading photos, even videos also no problem at all.

THE WORST PORTABLE WIFI SUPPLIER I’VE EVER DEALT WITH!!! I’ve ordered 2 units of portable WiFi to Korea @ 1/12-10/12. The delivery was a mess! Wrong location delivered & lack of 1 unit. Until the last minute before I fly off only they send me the other unit. FINE! When I touched down at Korea, THE DEVICES ARE NOT FUNCTIONING AT ALL. BOTH! There’s no reply / follow up / updates until the next day. What they replied was just β€œwe’ll find out the reason” and dead silence for the next half day. Until the end of the trip the device was not fixed and they didn’t even update us on the status! FINE! They said they’ll collect the device at my convenience once I’m back. They scheduled the time and location. I WAITED AT HOME FROM 6PM - 10PM AND NO ONE COME TO COLLECT THE DEVICE. there’s not even a reschedule message or call from them. Seriously this is the worst kind of company that I’ve met. They literally ruined the whole trip and even after the trip!

Highly do not recommend this service. On hindsight, I should have trusted the google reviews. :( There is an unspoken data cap of 1GB which they subsequently told me was under their fair use policy when I was already on my trip. This is ridiculous because: 1) Even thought the fair use policy was listed on their website, no actual value was given. 2) They promise that 5 users will be able to connect to the device and use "fast speed internet". That means each person only gets 0.2Mb of high speed data. LOL 3) Wifi speed actually starts to slow down to 3G when you hit 0.7GB not 1GB I paid $12.50/day for 1GB (I say this because after the speed restriction is imposed, there is barely anything you can use it for. Videos and social media aside, Google map takes forever to load). So all in all, I've lost $125 for 10 days. Contacting customer service won't help because they will just say all these are in their T&Cs. In conclusion, you are better off with another service, especially if you are constantly on the road. *edit: The owner has replied that they have explained the device is not suitable for long haul video consumption. However, that was only mentioned after I contacted them regarding the slow speed. Would have been nice if you stated that on your website.

Friendly service, fuss-free collection and return. Used for 3 weeks in Europe with no issues. Would definitely recommend for the super affordable price. However, the charging cable that they provided was not working properly. Was not a huge issue and we just used our own.

I rented out Y5 buddy for 6 days for a road trip to Malaysia. Worked first 4 days, then last 2 days, had virtually no connection. The 'customer service' was slow to respond via SMS. Gave some advice on how to restart, but after I replied that her advice did not work, I heard nothing. Was stuck on my own, and had to do expensive data roam since I was totally reliant on Y5. All in all, the product seems okay when it was working. Maybe I just had sheer bad luck. I like that it was reasonably priced with courier service but I am not sure if I will reuse their service again given the level of support when needed.

Rented a WIFI router while on SHN at a hotel. Collection at hotel was ok, but the return policy for their staff to pick up at the hotel was terrible. First, there is no indication in their charges were two way (initially invoice showed courier fees but did not indicate single trip or return). Second, my return date was 7 Apr (which the device was left at the hotel concierge) but I was only contacted on 15 May that I did not return the device. It turned out that the device was at the hotel all along. There was no staff who bothered to contact me regarding the device, and to add insult to injury, they revised their return courier charges (not indicated in original invoice) from $6 to $7 wef 23 Apr and wanted to charge me $7. The staff blamed it on me for not proactively contacting the company post 7 Apr (shouldn't the company be bothered to ask or check if their device is not back with them) to arrange for the return, and to bear the additional charges. And I was told that out of goodwill, I will be charged $44. As of this writing, my deposit has not been refunded after close to 6 weeks from the end of rental. T The above is written factually, so please exercise discretion. This will be my first and last time renting from Y5buddy.
