★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wanna try this porridge shop, but have to wait at least one hour? I gave up and tried the next shop for bak cho mee, disappointed. Next time you can make a phone call for pre order, and collect later, this will more effective and save time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most of the food stores looked interesting and price is reasonable! The wait for the porridge was too long, an hour or more. Better to call and order, queue number given, ask for estimated time before pick up. Porridge is good, generous amount of ingredients.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One star because I can’t give half star or ZERO star.
Visited this coffee shop - Yi He Eating House (638 Veerasamy Rd, #01-101, Singapore 200638) - on 5/2/22@1130 hrs n discovered they have a very serious hygiene issue.
A customer returned a cup of coffee n the young man manning the counter coolly n instinctively pour that cup of “customer returned coffee” into the big pot of coffee.
These are the issues-
1. the returned cup coffee has added sugar n it was poured back into the bigger pot - thus consumers who cannot tolerate sugar for medical reason, what’s going to happen to them???
2. Hygiene perspective, is this cup Safe n clean??
3. When told that he should not be doing that, he replied back that no one drink so can pour back!!!
I am avoiding this coffeeshop but I shall leave you to form your own judgement.
Omg in this modern age n time that such atrocious behaviour still exist.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited this eating house after finding out that there are at least 2 famous stalls operating here. One being Johore Porridge and the other is Mui Siong Bak Cho Noodles. An early trip is warranted because of possible long queues.
Johore Porridge has a numbered queuing system and after placing your order, find a seat and have a cuppa of kopi or tea while you wait. Once your queue number is flashed on the display, collect it from the stall and the feast starts! Generous bowl of pipping hot porridge individually cooked with handmade pork balls, pork slices and liver slices.
Was lucky that not many people went for Mui Siong that early morning, so we could share a small bowl of bak cho kway teow dry (neutral rice noodles which are not going to taint the superb blend of vinegar and spicy chilli). Thick slices of pork liver cooked tender and gives good bite! Awesome!
Some other stalls look interesting too but they start operations closer to lunch time. Shall revisit this place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This coffeeshop hidden in Jalan Besar has quite a lot of famous stalls. I tried to visit one Sunday morning hoping to kill 3 birds with 1 stone but only managed to eat from 2, the porridge and the fried chicken. The bak Chor Mee closed on a Sunday which was disappointing but I later realised they closed because their staff got covid.
There is also the Jian Zhao Ipoh curry noodles and the Tian Wai Tian tze char. The coffeeshop is not very clean though they seem shorthanded don't have people to clean the tables when customers leave. Also the quality of the milo and coffee served at the drinks stall is below average.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Relatively clean coffeeshop, with adequate sittings around the compound.
Table cleanliness can be improved though with cleaners missing to give each table a wipe down after each diner.
Lady who manned the safe entry station during my visit diligently does her job well.
Food option wise, enough to choose from, with an array of very popular stalls, chicky rice, porridge, noodles, drawing constant queues.
Queue for chicky rice is fast moving so do give their fried chicky wings a try if you are there ?
