They run of out pomfret fish when I was there. End up with the bantang fish. But it didn't disappoint me. They cooked it so simple and deliciously. The focus is on 3 ingredients. Very fresh fish meat, vege and authentic fish soup. Portion is reasonable

Tried the pomfret mee sua and it was very tasty. The ingredients & soup were flavorful. Serving size was a bit small but I'm a big eater so it should be ok for most. This is one of the two stalls with a queue. Would definitely order again :)

One of my favourite fish soup stalls, though queue can be long at times the efficiency of the stall ensures you can be served promptly. The variety of garnishes greatly amplifies the food quality in whatever permutations you please. Great lunch anyways ??

Yi jia Teochew fish soup and porridge. This stall is located at Maxwell food centre. The soup has the least MSG I had ever tasted. The soup is very authentic it has blue ginger in it. And all the dipping sauce garlic ginger fermented soya sauce and bean.

My no.1 fish soup in Singapore!!! - Traditional teochew fish soup (old school no frills) - Soup base is clear and light on taste (with dried fish bits and vegetables).... healthier choice (less salt!) - Fish slices (巴當 batang / 鯧魚 pomfret) are fresh - For prawn lovers, the prawns are done very nicely in butterfly (shell is peeled and deveined) - Options for carbo base: Rice, bee hoon (thin), bee hoon (thick), mee sua, teochew porridge style - If you are early (best to arrive by 11.30), there may also be fish roes available for an extra $1 (sold out pretty quickly) - Condiments available (take whatever amount you want): Ginger, garlic, chilli paddi, crispy pork lard - Queue can be long during peak lunch hour (11.45 to 1.15) (pre-Covid times) - Price for fish soup starts from $3 PS: I would always order $10 and that tells you how much I love this!!! ??? Do support our local hawkers when you can ?????? (will update with better pjotos when i can)

Excellent fish slice mee sua (mian xian) (large for $5.50). Consistent quality over the years. Fish is fresh and delicate, and the soup is flavourful. The portion is not so large though.

My favourite fish soup stall! Friendly Owners, queue is usually long but fast service. Fresh ingredients with reasonable pricing, starting from $3 fish soup, not easily to find nowadays! I love that they pair the fish soup with Tang Orh and generous self-service free to take condiments: Ginger, garlic, chilli paddi and bean sauce. Partronized alot of fish soup stalls in sg, not many are generous to serve Tang Orh vege and free garlic! Please only take what you need, appreciate no wastage. =)

I simply do not understand what's all the fuss during lunch hours where the queue is super long . Granted is old style fish soup but it's not super fantastic worthy of 15 to 30mins wait. Taste wise is clear style light fish soup. Not fresh till naturally sweet kind. I ordered pomfret which is fresh but overall taste is a neutral slightly salted soup with whatever customisation of lard , ginger, fermented beans and chilli of your liking at the self service condiments. The only gimmick I fell for is the unlimited lard and other condiments you can get your hands on .
