โ โ โ โ โ prices are a little on the steeper side, but this stall definitely serves up one of my favourite fish soups in Singapore.
incorporating a modern touch to our traditional fish soups, I really enjoy the tom yam and szechuan renditions of their mackerel fish soups. the former isn't too tangy, and the latter not too numbing to be unpalatable.
rice is free, and noodles are chargeable from 30-70c. the ice lemon tea is also a nice touch, but also the one thing I would nitpick about this place. I can't seem to taste the lemon in the tea, and no matter how much sugar I've added on countless visits, the sweetness of the tea doesn't seem to change.

โ โ โ โ โ ???High side: $10.80 for collagen soup mee sua with fresh fish, $9.80 for teochew fish soup with rice. Both comes with ice lemon tea.
??So-so only: fish slices were adequately fresh and had bite, however the soup was lacking sweetness. It wasnโt fishy though.
??????Systematic way of ordering, many customizable options (soup bases, carbs, style of fish and add-ons) and relatively fast. However the bowls used were way too heavy so you may have problems carrying two on a tray.

โ โ โ โ โ Note this is now shifted to Food Garden area (2nd floor of Asia Square), no longer on ground floor. Order, Pay and get queue number. Wheat noodles not normally an option in other fish soup store so try this.

โ โ โ โ โ I ordered the regular soup with both sliced fish and fried fish and wheat noodles. The meal costs about $6.80. Personally I feel the fish soup is on the pricier side since adding extra ingredients costs a lot (eg. Egg floss will cost additional $3).
That said, the fish slices were in 4 big slices and of better quality than those sold at coffeeshops. The regular soup broth is not very tasty and it isn't the usual anchovy broth that other stalls use.
Overall I think it is slightly over priced but I would visit this stall if I happen to be in Asia Square because the fish slices are good and fresh.

โ โ โ โ โ Very pricey fish soup. But the fish is considered the more expensive type, batang fish.
The fish soup quality is better than the average. It tastes sweeter than normal, probably because of the wolfberries they added. Quality is assured, and taste is good.
They have an option to allow you to replace your mushrooms with more fish slices.
But I still find the fish slices very little compared to the average ones out there.
Adding a bowl of rice (brown rice) is 70cents.
Noodles are $1.2
Not worth it for the price, as I chose the cheapest option with rice, and it totals to $9.50.

โ โ โ โ โ Tasteless. Canโt believe this was $12. This is not soup, itโs hot water. I shouldnโt have to add a large amount soy sauce to make this taste palatable. Very disappointing as I really liked this fish soup when they first opened next door to Asia Square, years ago. Only saving grace is that fish is fresh, or else it would be 1-star.

โ โ โ โ โ First time trying this popular fish soup! Loved the fish (they use king mackerel) but wasnโt a fan of the soup (got original) cos it was too bland for me.
BUTโฆ since itโs supposed to be popular, Iโm willing to give it another try - any recommendations on what soup base I should get next time? ??
