The fish (red garoupa) steamboat is very good. Fish is fresh and the meat cut thickly overlay with spinach goes well with the milky soup. Soup is tasty with balance of the fish fried with ginger, shallots, white chinese cabbage, yam and white tofu added to the soup.?

Located in the heartlands of Clementi Ave 4. There is a bus 284 from Clementi bus interchange to this Zi Char stall in a coffee shop. They are well known for their fish steamboat soup. You can choose to have milk in your soup base or not. From their board, you can choose to have grouper, red snapper and their catch of the day. Their fish is fresh and the soup tasted flavorful with vegetables like yam and cabbage. I tried a recommended chewy fish, I could not remember the name of it but it sure is chewy. Unfortunately I do not fancy the texture of said fish. Tip for your soup to boil faster, cover the soup with it's lid. I ordered an extra portion of cabbage and it goes really well with the soup. As it is a Zi Char stall, I ordered Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs which has the right balance of sweetness and sourish flavor. Pork has been marinated well, even though it's being fried, the meat is still moist and tender. The other dish I tried was the meat roll called Ngoh Hiang. Their version differs with each piece has been coated with flour and fried individually. Overall this stall has decent food and fresh fish but it is quite overpriced. These dishes amount to $88. I don't recommend coming over just to try as there is a better tasting and affordable stall at Taman Jurong Food Centre. It's great for those staying nearby but it isn't worth traveling down for.

Ordered their famous lobster cold dish and seafood superior pot. The servings are generous and big enough for 10 pax. Two other worthy orders are the steamed wrasse fillet - meat is fresh and succulent - and the claypot pig liver which is simply tender! Other items ordered as in the pictures. Nothing impressive, especially the cereal crayfish. The portion is little and also too salty.

Visited in April on a weekday night around 745pm. 80% of tables at the coffeeshop ordered this seafood stall for dinner with most having fish soup steamboat show its gd. We ordered the cheapest fish slice hotpot on the menu ($70) with deer meat on hotplate. After 20min wait the fish slices and hotpot was served and we were delighted to see the fresh thick fish slices that was neatly presented and de-boned. Broth was flavourful and tasty with Cabbages, fried fish head parts and yam pieces within. The hotplate deer meat($18) to our surprise was tender and flavourful as well and we were full to the brim, wiping out all the deer meat as well as fish and had more than 1 serving of soup each. Highly recommended though the coffeeshop can be a tad ill-ventilated and expensive for a coffeeshop stall, food fare was fresh and great execution of dishes.

The food is good. Parking is adequate. It's a coffee shop environment and can get rather humid. Price is reasonable. It's crowded during peak period till chairs are almost back to back with patrons from the next table.

A little long waiting time during peak hours. The San Lau Hor fun and shrimp paste chicken was really good with a good portion of ingredients

Great food, clean and airy coffeeshop nestled in a nice and quiet neighborhood. Highly recommended!
