Really good place for seafood and rice

Owner and staff are very friendly at stall #36. I've been going here for nearly 10 years whenever I need my Chilli Crab fix! I'm not a huge fan of the 'standard' Singapore Chilli Crab recipe, ONLY due to the horrible sweet ketchup notes that you always get in the sauce. These guys are accommodating in altering the flavour if requested, and make a mean spicy sauce using chilled padi and less ketchup (more savoury and much spicier than normal). They dont try to cheat you like most of the other vendors in Newton Circus (after you choose your crab, it's not swapped for a smaller one when you're not looking!). Some other stalls need to be shut down for ripping off tourists. I'm not a tourist, but I see it happening all the time! They of course have everything else on the menu that you crave for at a hawker stall, and dont overcharge. Thanks guys!

Been coming to the same stall for close to 16 years. Once in a while I experiment with other stalls - always regret it. One of the only stalls at Newton that hasn't seen a gradual decline in quality over the years. They won't rip you off and you're guaranteed to leave satisfied. Top dishes are the sambal stingray and cereal prawns. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. Stall 36. Walk in towards the centre from the car park, turn left.

Order $15sgd Well.. the sambal really disappointing... 2 stars - table service + portion considerable okay... Again not the best sambal I ever had in my dictionary..

Was supposed to go for my usual bbq stingray stall, but they were not opened. Decided to try this instead. Service is alright, uncle is nice and patient, but food ain't the best I've had here. It's a stall you likely won't miss seeing, and uncle has red hair most of the time. The sambal bbq stingray was good but not great. The sambal lala was good but not great. The stir fried Kailan was somehow lacking in something too... Just. Good experience less the food I guess.

Very disappointing meal. The fried rice burnt taste is too strong. Salted egg chicken is overfried with some unable to chew and first time i see cucumber and onion added to this dish, the salted egg sauce was too diluted. The stingray is sambal sauce does not taste good compared to other stalls. Will not be coming back here.

Visited in May 2019.. The purple hair owner is a cool cat! best friend rice and sweet and sour chicken in my Life!!!! Went there three times in one week!
