Veg stall that is closing on 30th Sept 2018. Enjoy their food before it is too late. Their fried carrot cake is worth to try!

A good little local food court in Tampines. Small with about 8 to 9 stalls, I am slowly eating my way through them. The popiah stall was an unexpected gem. The skin is handmade, the sauce a delicious base of chilli, sweet sauce and garlic, the mung kuang filling is of the hunky, dark and intense kind. Apparently this is a “branch” of a famous popiah stall in Chinatown. Fame aside, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The popiah is tightly rolled, each round holding its contents firmly in place, each perfectly sized for one neat, comfortable and very tasty mouthful. I’m definitely coming back. The rice stall: Huge variety of complex dishes (for example: a stir-fry of cabbage is accompanied by long strips of yummy dried bean curd and dried shrimp; the bean sprouts flavoured with finely sliced onions, chunky spring onions and tomatoes). Rice is soft and fresh, dishes are generally not oily, no MSG (I am highly sensitive to any hint of MSG), although I found a few rather over-salted. A steady stream of customers at mealtime ensures there is high turnover, the food is always steaming hot as the one-man kitchen churns out wok after wok of stir-fries like a machine. The drinks stall does a mean teh-si. Ask for strong. A new vegetarian stall opened (Sep 2018) where the old one was. It has beehoon or rice with dishes, or you can order from their menu of special stir-fry dishes.

This food court originally i wanted to give 3 stars. Coz most foodcourt are rather similar. Whats stands out is a tiny stall selling popiah really one of the best popiahs I've ever eaten. I will travel from Bishan to Tampines just to eat this.

Ramen King noodles is good pretty average as they are using cabbage and garnish which is abit weird the lava egg is not braised. Feels like not much effort put in the dish.

What a Gem! ? We visited 509 Food Court located at Blk 829 Tampines St 81 to try out Ramen King. Chef was previously from Santouka which we used to frequent when they were located behind Centrepoint. I must say Ramen King's bowl of Ramen is equally yummy and much more affordable. Their Ramen starts from $8.00. Also in this bustling coffeeshop there is a roast meat stall and the queue is always so long. The char shao is quite nice altho pork belly could be crispier. Then there is Xin Heng which sells steamed bao. The kaya, custard and coffee baos are just heavenly. The big bao is also very nice. You know its a good bao when the bao skin doesn't stick between your teeth. Wanton noodles from another stall there Tanjong Rhu is one of the worst. Totally disappointed. Also tried Liu Ji fish soup which is good. Have yet to try the Tiong Bahru Hainanese Chicken rice. I am sure it will not disappoint. There is even a Malay zi char which I will try soon

There’s a dang gui roast duck stall here which i think their duck was pretty nice. BUT they have bad customer service, their snake queues are very slow and long for ordering. During special period like Chinese New Year period, there is no collection queue meant for those customers who have placed their duck order earlier to collect and go, they simply tell you to join the same queue or come another day. As a customer, We can understand that maybe there’s shortage of manpower but this is an internal issue which they should resolve it at least in view of the festive periods. Don’t wait until your customers run away because of the long queues and poor customer service, it will be too late then to find a resolution.

Revamped food court with new stalls like the ramen stall & the wanton mee stall which is good?? Ramen broth was great & noodles were springy & al dente but their pork char siew slices were pathetically thin. Hopefully they'll work on the pork slices if not, the value isn't quite there for a $10 bowl of ramen in a coffee shop.

Small coffee shop but with multiples options; RamenKing soup was great. Chicken rice stall, chicken ? was soft and tender. Thumb ?
