β β β β β Seafood is fresh but they often drop orders/reservations. Twice we called to reserve the crabs but when we got there, either the crabs were overbooked (and we ended up having to negotiate with the other buyer) or sold mistakenly.
Donβt buy from them unless you are prepared to explain to your guests why suddenly we are without the main highlight of the makan session.

β β β β β Allswell has an incredible range of seafood with the best prices in town. Everything from oysters and abalone, to live turbot and huge alaskan crabs! Almost everything is live - so it is extremely fresh.
But what really impressed me is the incredible service. On hearing it was my first time, the manager (Jen) was kind enough to give my friend and I a tour, which included advice on how to prepare and cook the various items.
I have since learnt from friends in the restaurant industry that Allswell is a favourite of many top restaurants including Michelin starred. This may just be the best kept secret in the East.

β β β β β Just purchased a dozen oysters today. After eating 8..... discovered a live worm !! Stopped eating immediately and wanted to throw up.
Just discovered another bigger worm !!

β β β β β Not sure the oysters are the cheapest but I'm pretty happy with these. Got some for $2.50 each some $3 each. Decent size and fresh from the tank. There are palm sized ones that cost around $5 each.

β β β β β My go-to for fresh oysters. The Canadian oysters are priced according to size, starting from $2, which I personally thought were too small. The $3 ones were excellent! Fresh and meaty. We bought a bag home and shucked them ourselves. We've bought clams from them before to cook vongole, and they were fresh as well! I recommend going after 10am, because they'll be busy in the morning fulfilling industry orders.
