Ban Mian - Ban Mian

Tried this 福州板面 stall at the corner of the coffeeshop. Spoke to the stall lady, she said that all her Ban Mian are handmade, not machine made. So I decided to give it a try, ordered the Ban Mian Dry version which costed $3.80. You will get a huge bowl of handmade Ban Mian, minced pork, vegetables, crispy anchovies (ikan bilis), creamy poached egg, topped with fried shallots and chopped onions. The noodles are quite thick as it is handmade and it was cooked to a perfectly springy texture. The chilli and dark sauce is at the bottom of the bowl, so you will need to mix it well until, coating each strand of noodles nicely. Their dark sauce is very tasty, well-balanced, not salty with some sweetness, each mouthful of the noodles is super shiok !!! I like the soup given a lot as it was robust, thick, full of flavors, very tasty. Will visit again for the awesome taste of the handmade noodles and soup.

Hidden gem. Good hygiene, nice soup base, generous ingredients.

Best yee mian around ubi area. The soup base is really tasty and good.
