I've always known that many of Singapore's industrial estates house some of the best hawker fare. If you know where to look. Da Sheng's bak chor mee is one such hidden gem. For most dry BCM, the soup usually tastes bland and totally lacks flavour. One sip and that's it for me. But the soup here was in fact the first thing that really impressed me. So full of flavour with an intense taste of crispy deep-fried dried sole fish (tee poh). And it actually tastes very much like my late mom's homemade soup! Heh. That scored a big wow from me! Noodles were perfectly cooked and they were really springy and a real pleasure to chew on, but just a tad too dry. Adding some more of that flavourful soup to the noodles should make it a lot more palatable. Seasoning was good, but I thought that the chilli sauce could be more flavourful and the crispy pork lard could be fried crispier to release even more flavours and aromas. And I like their fried Teochew dumplings a lot. Crispy on the outside and bursting with umaminess from the fresh minced pork and tee poh filling on the inside. Yummy yum yum! Friendly folks and a notably good BCM with super tasty soup, I'm sure I will return for more of this good grub! ??

Tried this bcm during the P2HA. Pretty good bowl of bcm, the portions were generous and we were extremely stuffed after finishing our meal. Bought the popular shrimp wanton to try and it’s good but abit on the pricey side. It did contain a generous portion of fresh prawn chunks inside hence the price.

Very good bowl of ba chor mee. Taste was balanced and noodles were al dente. Good portion of ingredients and their 5.50 version comes with 2 nicely fried dumpling.

Bak chor mee for $5.50 in an industrial area and worthy of 5 stars. Springy noodles, not too vinegary which suits my palette. The pork slices were well marinated and incredibly smooth - almost melt in your mouth texture. Flavourful mushroom slices. The fried dumplings made the whole bowl seem more luxurious than a typical bowl of BCM. Very generous portion. Way better than the infamous, overrated Michelin stall. This is a must go!

Better be hungry when u're here cos the noodle portions r huge. Easily 2x the amount of ur average bowl Noodles were well-cooked, vinegar hits the spot, n pork slices tender r tender. A good bowl of bcm

Feb 2022 Long queue normally. Bought the signature mee pok. At $5.50 won't say it's cheap. Portion wise it's quite filling. Taste wise, it's strong in vinegar. Comes with 2 fried dumpling. I think the normal version at $4.50 doesnt have those. Overall not a bad BCM, but don't think I would travel all the way here specially to eat this. Most of the shops in this coffeeshop accepts QR code, including this stall.

Super generous noodle portions & meat portions. Love their fried dumplings which has a good amount of prawn in it. Noodle texture is great, with a lil' al dente bite to it & soup wasn't too salty. Queues are long during lunch time so do expect to wait 15mins++ at peak hours!

I have been wanting to try this noodle stall and decided to make a trip here. I went for the signature bowl as it looks the most sumptuous. The noodle portion is very generous and the ingredients are very fresh. To me, the noodle could be more ‘Q’ (or al dente) so that it is perfect to the last strand. I will come back another time to try their prawn dumplings.
