Exceeded my expectations by a mile. The food was delicious and every dish on point, flavorful and full of aroma. Nasi Bakar or grilled rice is the highlight of the meal, the fragrance of the rice just permeates your olfactory senses. Just wish there were more sauces on the chicken.

Simply delish! Was blown away by the fresh flavours of the Nasi Bakar. Chicken was beautifully marinated and tender - and not oily. The rice wrapped in banana leaf had a fragrant hint of lemongrass and accompanying sauces just topped it off perfectly! Staff were also friendly and service was super quick :)

Pricey but for those who enjoys Ayam Penyat but never like their plain and dry rice, this is the place to go to. Though also without any gravy, the banana leaf wrapped rice here was so fragrance and moist that it was palatable even eating on its own, kind of reminiscent eating chicken rice where sometimes the rice is more enjoyable than the meat.

Tried this Indonesian shop the other day. Overall liked 2 items out of everything we ordered, especially the empal. Was not a huge fan of the fish and soto. Pictured: - Set F Empal Rica Rica ?? - Sambal Udang Kentang ?? - Set Bawal Bumbu Bali - Soto Betawi - 2x Nasi Bakar

Love it! Thank you for such a wonderful meal. The chilli is awesome, the rice is immersed with the smell of the leaves, the chicken is just nice. Only complain; the rice portion is abit small. I can eat the rice with the chilli and it taste so good. Will go back again!

Bara is about as Indonesian as you can get food wise. You walk through a row of open faced restaurant at the Icon Village to reach Bara. The concerns on it being cramped and small get over the minute you get to look at the menu and realise with growing excitement that you have probably walked into one of the few Indonesian restaurants in Singapore that will not serve assorted Malay/ semi Padang food and call it Indonesian. The food itself was simple and very wholesome. It also arrived very rapidly on the table. The restaurants owners, husband and wife couple are actively involved in ensuring great service. This restaurant is about as Javanese as you can get. The Bakwan Jagung, a kind corn fritter was excellent. We ordered a Set B - Ayam Goreng Serundeng that was done really well. The set came with a roll of rice baked inside a banana leaf. The rice, Nasi Bakar, was deliciously fragrant with hints of lemongrass. The chicken was just right and the seasoning excellent. The set was accompanied by deep fried tofu that was crisp on the outside and succulent. Bara also serves an array to Sambal, spicy sauce accompaniment with the food. I love the Sambal Ijo and it went great with the rice. I also got to try the Soto Ayam. This chicken broth and vermicelli noodle soup was the best we have had in Singapore for sure. We also tried the Sambal Udang Kenteng and the Telor Balado and both dishes are really good here. The perkedel or potato fritters was the only dish that did not quite make it. Would recommend the chef works on this one. The most impressive part are the prices. This place is really inexpensive. I am going to go out on a limb and predict that this husband and wife team will move onto bigger locations. Thank you and we will be back!!

Simply loving it. First time to try Balinese food and well it taste so yummy. Sauces provided along were icing on the cake. I finished initial serving of the sauces and asked for more. Team is friendly. Would love to come again and try some other stuff for sure. Highly recommended
