I was like other insurer here who gave 1 star review. Don’t ever buy car insurance from this company that you will regret. My past 15 years with various car insurance company this is one of the worst insurance company I ever encountered. I bought the car insurance with this company last year July and attract by the good pricing . I declared my NCD 50% based on my previous insurer which was 50%. Few week back Budget direct suddenly send me an email claim that my NCD entitlement is 30% due to NCD protector not transferable and want to charge me additional premium in order to continue my policy which will expire in 2 months time. If I don’t top up the premium they threaten to end the policy by this month. My question to Budget Direct why you don’t check and inform that my NCD at the beginning 1 to 2 weeks after I bought the insurance . If anything not agreeable than can arrange a refund rather than wait until the policy going to expire in 2 months time come and tell me all these grand father story . This is not an honest way of doing business . TO THE NEW POTENTIAL CUSTOMER DON’t ever try your luck attract by their cheap premium , they will use this type of dirty tactic to make you pay back and top up premium toward the end of policy .

Absolutely horrible company, the customer service was extremely rude and demeaning. Despite their initial cheap pricing, they come up with excuses such as risk pooling to jack up their prices and basically neglect your ncd. The renewal price they offered is even higher than their initial price despite the fact that not a single claim was made. You are better off going to literally any other insurance companies.

I finally found out why this company can offer you such great rates the first time you sign up car insurance with them. So their first year rate was fantastic. However after 10% NCD, their rate was only $3 cheaper than the previous year!!! When you question that, they came up with all sorts of theory, what repair costs have gone up etc…I decide to go to Etiqa, even though the rate may be slightly higher, their 10% NCD and is really 10% off the previous rate you have paid for. In the long run, it is definitely not worth staying on with Budget Direct! Do your own calculations!
