Carrotsticks and Cravings @ Dempsey - 81 Loewen Rd

The sourdough toast is simply the BEST, it’s light and airy (not too dense). I would buy the plain bread home if I could! Got the avo toast ($18) - the simple combination was lightly seasoned and tasted so good on its own. You can opt for a heartier meal and add on two proteins (ham/smoked salmon/poached eggs) for an additional $8. Both the plain avo and the one with add-on left us feeling clean and satisfied after our meal. Other than the slighly high price tag, I’d most definitely recommend this place.

Lovely experience in this quaint cafe, which is shrouded in greenery. Only open-air seating available, with no reservations and free seating, but the service is efficient and well-coordinated! The vegetarian shakshouka and Mediterranean savoury spanakopita pastry tasted wholesome and fresh, highly recommended for healthy eaters. Smoothies with the added kick of coffee are absolutely delicious too!

Horrible front of house service… despite having multiple staff on a public holiday so it seemed like the staff should be able to cope. Multiple staff seems disinterested and not warm - forgot frittata order and only remembered after being prompted 15mins later, frittata served cold when it came and when to ask to reheat and staff didn’t apologise. They simply said they’ll reheat and took another 15mins. They might need to change their toaster oven. Ordered croissant with smoked salmon - croissant was served first in its own and salmon came only 20mins later and it was served without the croissant as we returned the croissant because it turned cold. The staff didn’t notice that the croissant didn’t come back with the salmon. Saving grace was that the hot food was decent and decent back of house. I rarely give bad reviews but I had no choice. I hope they improve.

My favourite healthy cafe for healthy food Carrotsticks and cravings Multiple locations including dempsey and stanley street I love their juices like the detox one with mint, ginger, kale, celery etc Also they serve guilt free sweets like chocolate cakes with no added sugar but with dates in it. Really good tasting and delicious Particularly like the one at Dempsey where is like outdoor seating and you can relax and enjoy good food. Plenty of space for kids to have fun as well. Seating & ordering is self service, pet friendly cafe. Patio had ceiling fan so it wasnt too warm. Cute little kids car and rocking horses for children's entertainment. We had iced latte and iced flat white which were really fragrant. Signature Smashed Avo with Poached Egg & Smoked Salmon $26, really pretty good. The seasoning flakes on top was a great complement to the sourdough & avo combination. Manwich $20 was super filling, there were 2 huge roasted leg ham sandwiches. The leg ham were thickkk, topped with cheddar cheese and generous amount of avo. Too much for 2 pax, will recommend to share a main will do. Not too pack for weekend brunch parking is convenient too.

Quite crowded over weekend though is a bit out of way. Food is good but price point is on the high side. Ambience is quite relaxing in outdoor setting. Nothing fancy, and dont come expecting modern aircon setup.

Lovely place. Easy to get a table during weekday. A great place for breakfast, brunch & lunch. Lots of good options for vegetarians. We had the signature smashed avo toast with additional poached eggs & pomegranate, gluten free pancakes and green detox juice. Everything is spot on! Thank you!
