Dr Jeffrey Chew is a Godsend to me. I need someone who would listen to my health concerns and give words of peace and comfort. I suffered from deteriorating hip pain due to past injury for four years and was afraid to go for surgery but when I met Dr Jeffrey Chew for the first time in his clinic, he took his time to listen to what I shared and gave me assurance on the benefits of going for this hip replacement. He ran tests as appropriate and it did not take long for me to decide that I want to go for surgery under him. I was always looking forward to the follow-up sessions in his clinic because he would take me through my progress and update me on my healing. He has a team of pleasant and competent staff at his clinic.

It was midnight 2.35am (23/08/2020)and I was screaming for pain and admitted myself into A&E (Parkway East) for my left knee cartilage tear. I chose Dr Jeffrey Chew from Centre for Orthopedic And Hip and knee Surgery (Joo Chiat) Orthopedic Surgery as my consulting doctor due to his vast proficient knowledge in bones structure and also his empathetic nature in understanding, assessing and assuring his patient’s needs. He is such an endearing doctor who immediately engaged me to provide comfort after assessing my MRI scan reports. He further engages me via my handphone and sent me some brochures on the treatment availabilities for me and ask questions if any. Thereafter, he made a trip down on a Sunday noon to assess my condition and also gives me very good advice and also understand what are my immediate needs.The recommendations and confidence that he exuded is what amazed me and decided to go with the choice that we have decided on. A surgery was arranged the next day and everything went on splendidly well. The anaesthetist -Ms Shirley Goh) that Dr Chew engaged was equally comforting and assuring. They were such great tag team. Surgery went smoothly and I was discharged the next day. Debridement and abrasion chondroplasty as per Haylofast procedure was done. I thought I will be on clutches and was a little sad but guess what? I can walk without clutches and I think I will be able to resume my gym and cardiovascular activities in due time. Overall, my special thanks to Dr Jeffrey Chew and his amazing team for the care, concern and assurances shown towards me during my stay in Parkway East Hospital. I am a 62 year old English, Singaporean PR, having been fortunate to live in Singapore since 2001. I consider myself as Singlish. In my younger days I was an avid rugby player. At 19 I played for the Yorkshire Colts and was selected for the national squad. My club rugby was with Headingley, in Leeds. I have always enjoyed been physically active and maintained a reasonable level of fitness. I consider not been able to enjoy physical challenges to be a serious deterioration in the quality of my life. I first met Dr Jeffery Chew when I slipped a disc in 2016. I was on contract in KL at the time, but chose to struggle back to my home in Singapore, rather than seek local treatment. I went immediately from the airport, to what is today Parkway hospital. Within the hour I had been x-rayed, scanned and admitted to the ward. Shortly after arriving on the ward I met Dr Jeffery Chew. It quickly became obvious that I had been fortunate in my hospital selection, as Dr Jeffery was an excellent physician and I was in the best of care. I received traction treatment and with in a week back walking around and two weeks back at work. A few years later my wife was running in the local park and fell whilst negotiating a flight of stairs, breaking her collar bone. I immediate sort out Dr Jeffery. Her collar bone had two breaks and needed to have a metal support fitted. The procedure was a complete success, my wife was back on her feet in a matter of days. In 2019 there was an obvious deterioration in my right hip. Pain was evident with any lateral hip movement or whilst climbing a number of stairs. Dr. Jeffery recommend an immediate hip replacement. I had the operation on the 15 August 2019. On the 16 August I was walking using a zimmer frame and a week later, unaided. 6-weeks later my scars had all healed and I was back doing my normal exercise regime. On the 30-June-2021, I circumnavigated Singapore on a mountain bicycle, covering a distance of 130km.

I was referred to the Centre for Orthopaedics by my insurance adviser whose clients also had good experience here All enquires and appointments made to this client is handled professionally and promptly. I saw Dr Jeffrey Chew. He is full of drive and very experienced. And very personable too, he spoke to me about how he made his way up. And working really hard from scratch enabled him to be more proficient in his field. With his skills he very quickly diagnosed my condition and confidently recommended the appropriate treatment. As of now I am recovering well and have full confidence in his abilities. Highly recommend centre and doctor!

Dr Jeffrey Chew is an excellent and a very competent surgeon . I had a robotic knee surgery and was already able to walk the next day and also able to negotiate the stairs. Post-surgical pain management was excellent and he also recommended a competent physiotherapist. Within 6 months I was able to do my prostration fully in my prayers and that was the most important thing to me.Dr Chew and his staff also showed great care and concern before, during and after my surgery. I strongly recommend his clinic.

Dr. Chew explained exactly what he would accomplish in the operation and even allowed me to video record his explanation while he demonstrated the procedure using model knee structures. For most of my life I have lived with the pain and instability of my left knee. I had repeatedly been told that I needed to wait to have knee replacement surgery until I reached a certain age. Once I reached that age, a friend recommended Dr. Jeffrey Chew. She stated he would be pragmatic, straightforward and professional with his diagnosis and he was. During the process leading up to surgery, Dr. Chew's team was outstanding. They were helpful and informative. Dr. Chew thoroughly explained the process (he even had slides that helped visually show what would happen). Knowing that he and his anesthesiologist had worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester also helped ease my mind. The surgery and post recovery went smoothly. His team was attentive to my needs and helped me smoothly transition out of the hospital to being on my own. I am now 11 weeks post surgery and not only living pain free, but also doing activities I have not done in years. I have a new knee and a new lease on life. Without a doubt Dr. Jeffery Chew is one of the best doctors I had ever met. He is not only professional and skillful, he goes out of his way to ensure that I receive the best treatment possible. His nurses are also extremely professional, skillful and tactful when dealing with patients. They ensure that all patients are treated with love and utmost care even when Dr. Chew is not present.
