Dr Ong attended to my husband's shoulder earlier this year, for a rotator cuff and tendon surgery. He is a fine, professional and caring surgeon, and was always pleasant and friendly before the surgery and the follow up. He was very patient and pedagogic in his explanations, giving us details and balancing his decisions before and after the surgery. My husband recovered well and his shoulder is now doing well. Dr. Ong is a highly skilled, caring and excellent physician. I texted the clinic for a urgent slot due to sudden onset of shoulder pain. Even though it was after the clinic hours, Dr. Ong responded to the message personally and gave me an appointment early next morning. He is extremely thorough in his examination, both with the questions he asks and the physical examination. This is extremely important as the key to a good physician is his ability to make the right diagnosis. After the examination, he then shares his hypothesis on the potential diagnosis to be confirmed using an MRI. And here, I would like to highlight that he is not a doctor who rushes patients to do expensive or unnecessary treatments and even for the MRI, he said I could wait if I wanted to since the procedure is expensive and it has only been a couple of days since the pain started. However, I still decided to get an MRI just to be sure. Before the MRI review, Dr. Ong texted to check in on my pain and updated me on the MRI results. And for the review of the MRI, he carefully explained every single line in the results document and in a way that was easily understood. I think he is the first physician I've encountered who bothered to go through line by line in addition to the images. So yes, Dr. Ong is definitely a most wonderful, qualified, skilled and patient physician whom you can count on. I'm actually bringing my mum to him now as she trusts in him seeing how he examined me. Feb 2022 Update: I wanted to post an update to this review as Dr. Ong is really such an amazing doctor who truly cares for his patients. My shoulder bursitis flared up while I was in Bangkok in November 2021. Not trusting the doctor I was seeing there, I texted Dr. Ong for his advice. He not only called me back on a Saturday to ask about my symptoms in detail, he took his precious lunch time on the subsequent Mon to share with me his diagnosis after reviewing the MRI I did in Bangkok. And he firmly refused my offer to pay for this tele-consultation. He said he was simply doing what he should do. I would like to tell him that he has gone way beyond what most doctors would do. And most importantly, he is a most skilled doctor who you can trust. As he rightly advised, an H/L injection would not help me much as the shoulder bursitis and rotator cuff tear were triggered by another underlying issue. So yes, do not hesitate to visit Dr. Ong if you need a reliable, caring doctor who goes out of his way to care for every patient!

Visited Dr. Ong with a torn ACL and damage to my medial meniscus after sustaining the injury while playing football. After discussing various options, I decided to undergo an ACL reconstruction together with a meniscus repair. Throughout the entire process of considering my options, Dr. Ong offered transparent medical advice which took into consideration my personal goals (to what extent I should return to football - not at all, recreational or competitive) and weighed it out with the financial aspects which allowed me to make an informed medical decision. He never forced unnecessary treatment and was very patient in going through all of the options out there. Dr. Ong managed my pre and post operative recovery with utmost care and provided invaluable advice on how to successfully return to the sport I love. He frequently checked up on me through text and was also very responsive. Surgery was successful and I am confident of returning to the football pitch once again. Dr. Ong makes the patient feel very comfortable, so much so that I could discuss any concerns and questions with him as if we were close friends. At the same time, his professionalism and complete understanding of the any risks involved were very reassuring as I recovered from my first major operation. Anyone choosing Dr. Ong as their orthopedic surgeon can rest assured that he is trustworthy and his work of the highest quality!

Dr Ong was very thorough, empathetic, patient and gentle considering the pain I was in. He treated me for a tailbone injury which went away after just 2 days of meds. Despite being a first time patient of his, he and his nurses waited through their lunch break for me to get back from a long queue at a nearby x-ray clinic for my diagnosis. I had a history of knee injuries (on both knees, ACL MCL LCL tears, meniscus tears etc. the list is long) growing up and decided to consult a doctor on my condition 3 years ago as I was unable to return to simple physical activities such as running without having knee instability/pain. Fast forward 3 years (2 operations, 1 for each knee) and I am now back to doing the physical activities I loved! From my experience being under the care of Dr Ong, I can certainly say that Dr Ong showed a high level of concern for my well-being and is a very caring doctor who explained the medical conditions to me and my family clearly and patiently. He did not pressure/push me into getting unnecessary treatment and was very patient in going through all of the options available and gave me time and freedom to make my decision. Dr Ong is also easily contactable and addressed my concerns promptly throughout the entire journey. He checked in on me frequently during the rehabilitation process post-op for both knees up until the end throughout these 3 years, and I felt extremely assured that I will be able to fully recover under his care (and I did!). I am eternally grateful to have met him during my search for a doctor and whoever comes under his care can be assured that you are in very safe and extremely capable hands! I sustained a very bad shoulder injury during a bowling game, such that it hurt so much whenever I raised my arm or reached backwards. Tried several TCM acupuncture but it just didn't work, that's when I started to research and chanced upon the many good patient reviews of Dr Ong Kee Leong. Honestly, I was initially sceptical, but I decided to reach out anyway on a Sunday night via the clinic whatsapp. I was surprised to receive Dr Ong's reply early the next morning, and he quickly arranged a consultation in the afternoon. Indeed Dr Ong is patient, unbaised and pedagogical, weighs out the pros and cons. I never felt rushed and he would answer every doubt to my satisfaction. As I wanted to perform the keyhole surgery to treat my rotator cluff and tendon asap, Dr Ong was accommodative to expedite all the pre-assessessments, MRI, scans, OT all within 8 days. The surgery was smooth and perfect. After the surgery, Dr Ong continued to follow up on my post-op recovery, coordinated with the physiotherapist to ensure I am progressing well. Now after 7 months, my injured shoulder is almost back to normal, the rest is just my own personal physio exercises. I am glad to have Dr Ong as my orthopaedic doc and will highly recommend him to my friends anytime.

I suffered from a clavicle (collarbone) fracture and was referred to Dr Ong Kee Leong. I vividly remember the very first consultation I had - Dr Ong was patient in explaining the various options available to fix my fracture clavicle and was not pushy though he was firm on what the best course of action would be. Even though I was afraid to undergo surgery, I knew that trusting him would be the right choice. Many people suggested I seek a second opinion from another doctor, but I had no qualms Dr Ong wasn’t one to put profits above the care of his patients. 7 months on from the accident, Dr Ong had operated on me twice smoothly (once to insert an implant and another to remove) and I am close to full recovery. The care and professionalism exhibited by Dr Ong pre and post op went beyond what I had expected from someone as busy as him. He takes the extra effort to speak with your loved ones post op and does not mind dropping in to visit either early in the morning, or even later in the evening.
